Guests say

Tacker Street Cottage offers a peaceful and picturesque retreat, perfect for those seeking tranquillity and a back-to-basics experience. Guests praise the beautiful setting, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and the charm of the open fire. The location is ideal for scenic walks and enjoying nature. While the cottage is rustic and some facilities are dated, most found it cosy and relaxing. Some guests noted limited water pressure, bathroom maintenance issues, and access challenges, but overall, the cottage provides excellent value and a memorable countryside escape.

Most guests found the cottage acceptably clean, with some highlighting good standards, especially given the age of the property. However, a few reviews mentioned areas needing attention, such as under furniture and slight mould in the bathroom.

The setting is widely praised as beautiful, peaceful, and ideal for walks, with a friendly local pub nearby. Some guests noted the access route can be challenging, especially for those with mobility issues, but the overall location is highly regarded.

Guests consistently mention comfortable beds, plenty of bedding, and a cosy atmosphere, especially with the open fire and storage heaters. Some noted the cottage is basic and rustic, but still provided a restful stay.

The kitchen is well-equipped and the cottage has essential amenities, but several guests reported issues with water pressure, bathroom maintenance, and dated appliances. The lack of a proper shower and limited internet were also noted.

The owner is frequently described as helpful and welcoming, providing local recommendations and meeting guests on arrival. While some guests received water and firewood, these gestures are not guaranteed for all stays.

A rustic cottage in need of some TLC, in a beautiful and remote location, with a great pub just down the road. However, the water only trickles from the tap, making a shower or bath impossible. Any hot water is curtesy of the kettle. I am disappointed that Cottages.co, did not let me know the situation and help with alternative arrangements before we arrived.

Perfect for those that want to get away from it all and just kick back to basics, peaceful, beautiful and everyone is so helpful and polite. This place is how the world should be. We can't wait to go back in the very near future. An amazing find.

Tacker street cottage was quite and peaceful set in a pretty location with beautiful walks from the door. It was warm and cosy the storage heaters meant you woke up to a warm place every morning and the open fire and wood burner was so cosy at night. The beds were very comfortable and the linen was clean and crisp, plenty of hot water when using the immersion heater nice to have a relaxing bath. There was everything we needed there Mrs Thomas has thought of everything, we would highly recommend this cottage.
