Accessed over a small wooden bridge across a stream, running through the neighbour’s grounds, it is ideally positioned for walking, riding and touring. Beautiful Exmoor with its sleepy villages, native ponies and red deer as well as the attractions of the coast, close to Minehead, Watchet Harbour and beach at Blue Anchor. Dunster Castle and village (NT) and the West Somerset Steam Railway are nearby. Shop ½ mile, pub ¼ mile.

Tacker Street Cottage was a wonderfully peaceful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. Beds were clean and comfortable and we appreciated little touches like plenty of teabags, teatowels, washing up liquid etc. A washing machine would have been very helpful as a family with children but we planned for this by bringing plenty of clothes and it meant a break from the usual washing routines! No WiFi was good for us to have a digital detox. The children absolutely loved the stream and garden to play in and bridge to access the property. The pictures really don't do it justice as it is a beautiful location (not the best if you struggle with driving down tight lanes). If you like luxury this might not be the place for you but if you value simplicity then this is a great cottage at an affordable price.

We liked, and expected the remoteness, the location was quaint, where I felt this accommodation let itself down was the facilities. It advertised a barbecue, which looked like it hadnt been used for years, and I would not have used. This should be removed and its existence removed from the advert. The bathroom was incredibly dated and hugely benefit from a refurbishment. Overall the decor and facilities looked tired, although I appreciate the character of the cottage has been maintained. It was reasonably clean, I wouldnt describe it as dirty, certainly, but it looked like it hadnt really been updated since the 80s. But we enjoyed our stay, although I am not sure I would stay here again.
