The town has a long standing maritime history and the harbour remains the heart of it, offering visitors a choice of boat trips, from relaxing tours of Torbay, accompanied fishing trips and a regular service across the bay to the resort town of Torquay. Brixham boasts several beaches, two of which are within waling distance of the property: Breakwater Beach, which is popular with families and Shoalstone beach, a shingle beach with a delightful seawater pool which is free to access. You can enjoy the sites of Brixham harbour , with its fascinating replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship, The Golden Hind. Further afield, the towns of Paignton and Torquay are also popular destinations with visitors, and other attractions include the golden sandy beaches, a zoo, an aquarium and a wonderful steam railway which runs through the Dart Valley. You can take a walk to Berry Head, which is at the end of the road
