Just a short walk from the front door lies Brixham’s working harbour, a hub of activity where fishing boats come and go, and pleasure cruises offer trips along the coast, to nearby Torquay and Paignton, or across to Dartmouth (weather permitting). Keep your eyes peeled for seals, dolphins, and even the occasional porpoise in the waters nearby.

The harbour is lined with colourful cottages, seafood restaurants, cafes, and traditional pubs, many of which serve fresh catches from the local market. Brixham is steeped in maritime history, highlights include the full-sized replica of the Golden Hind, the Brixham Heritage Museum, and the historic coastal defences of Brixham Battery.
