Our 5 day holiday break away in March was made to our complete satisfaction.Comfortable, exceptionally clean, very spacious, well equipped and central to areas of interest. The groundwork and drive leading to the cottage grounds is certainly in need of attention and improvement.

The property is down an unmade track as explained in the details. It has to be driven along slowly and mzy not suit every car. We were greeted on arrival and given a quick guide. The rooms are very spacious and nicely furnished. Everything was spotlessly clean. We found the sofa and beds to be comfortable. However a few issues prevent me from being able to agree with the description of it being luxurious. There was a nice welcome basket of biscuits ,Easter eggs, tea and coffee. There were items such as foil, kitchen towel etc but only one toilet roll and no soap in the kitchen. The kitchen was very well equipped and even had empty cupboards for us to store food. The twin room had a broken light pull which was very sharp and we wrapped it in tape to prevent cutting our fingers. We also could not get any hot water to that shower despite following the instructions .In the other bathroom the toilet seat was loose and ill fitting. We reported these to the owner who has arranged for a plumber to fix them. We felt that the bath towels were a bit on the small side. On our arrival the hot water timer for providing hot water to the showers had been accidently left with its evening setting to only come on for 30 minutes at 5pm. We discovered there were no hot showers available for that evening. It was easy however to adjust both this and the heating. On our arrival the TV was not working properly. It is a rather confusing set up, which even the TV repair man found a challenge. The owner arranged for the TV to be sorted within a couple of days.It is worth noting the TV is not a SMART TV as in the description. It only has a basic freeview package.Leaflets are provided but could do with updating as most are from 2019. We also had a problem with the wifi on some brands of tablet and laptops. Apple devices were fine because of how they find location etc but other brands thought we were in Venezuela due to the Starlink modem. It affected google maps , weather , time. We had to manually adjust them which helped a bit. There was also no wifi signal in the main bedroom.Whilst the rooms are spacious no mention is made in the description of the low entrance door(5ft 6) or low interior beams. Anyone over 5ft 9ins will need to duck. The owners are very friendly and available if any issues arrive. There are nice countryside views and wildlife.Unfortunately, and completely outside the owners control, a number of alternative lifestylers are resident along the lane which created an atmosphere that detered us from walking from the door.Overall we would stay here again as it is well situated for attractions , walks etc. Just a few niggles prevent us from saying it rates as a luxury property.
