These lovely, semi-detached barn conversions are situated just outside of the medieval cathedral city of Salisbury, and close to the iconic prehistoric stone circle of Stonehenge, which stands on the grassland of Salisbury Plain. This is a great base for families or groups wanting to explore this part of the country, as there is so much to see and do. It is only 30 minutes to the coast with the lovely sandy beaches of Bournemouth, or there are plenty of sites and National Trust areas with beautiful walks and lovely bike rides in the New Forest, you will be spoilt for choice.
The Old Stables are situated within their own grounds and form part of a collection of four newly, and stylishly converted barns. The walks that surround them are widely renowned to be some of the best in the area and include Bentley walks with its famous Bluebell display, Hound Wood, and Blackmoor Copse with its many deer that roam and nature ponds.
The Old Stables 1 (ref UK32045) is mainly on one level, with just one bedroom on the first floor with a vaulted ceiling and traditional oak A-frame beams, all other rooms are on the ground level, with open plan living, dining and kitchen. With York stone flooring throughout and terracotta tile in the kitchen area to create a comfortable rustic feel. There is a vaulted ceiling and beautiful oak beams.
The Old Stables 2 (ref UK35616) is set over two floors consisting of an open plan living, dining, and kitchen areas on the ground floor and two bedrooms and a shower room on the first floor.
The Old Stables 3 (ref UK35690) offers wonderful open plan living/kitchen/dining room along with two stunning bedrooms and a splendid bathroom. All the properties have a garden where you can enjoy the peaceful countryside after your jam-packed day out sightseeing. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Free wifi does not connect on our two phones or i-Pad or Laptop. Smart TV does not allow connection to live TV channels ie BBC 1,2, ITV, Channels 4 &5. KIng size bed is ok but mind the sloping ceilings when getting up. Bed in rear bedroom is only 6 foot , and I am 6'3"

We had a nice break at the Old Stables No.2. The accommodation is to a high standard, with open plan kitchen/living space, tiled floors throughout the ground floor. There is a very nice kitchen island with impressive hob cooker, and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. There is a decent sized flat TV which is in a furniture unit, but the only channels you can watch are internet channels as there does not seem to be any aerial, but you do get BBC Iplayer, ITVx etc and Netflix which is a bonus. The WIFI is good as well. The bedrooms on the first floor are comfortable with a king size bed in the main bedroom and the bathroom is nice and spacious with a walk-in shower, but no bath. The bedrooms are partly in the roof space which means the ceiling's slope at the end of each room, not a problem as long as you remember that when getting out in the night. I banged my head more than once where the full height part in front of the window suddenly changes to a slope, something to watch out for! Outside, there is room for 2 cars, but it can be difficult to get out of the parking space if there is a car parked in front of No.3. The site is all on one level, which is good for anyone with mobility issues. We took our 2 dogs with us and there are plenty of well-kept footpaths to walk them on nearby and a bit further away is Bentley woods with many more miles to walk on. The site itself is not that dog friendly as there is no gate to the main entrance meaning they could wander out into the road if you let them roam.
