Trafalgar Gardens is a group of 3 holiday cottages accommodating up to 17 guests. Trafalgar Cottage sleeps eight, The Potting Shed sleeps five and The Orangery sleeps four, with each cottage allowing up to 2 dogs. Approached along a private track, the complex of cottages is surrounded by a walled garden, now a cut flower garden. The grounds were originally part of Trafalgar Park, which was gifted to Lord Nelson following the Battle of Trafalgar, and some of his descendants lie within Standlynch Chapel, nestled next to the cottage. Just a 2 minute stroll takes you to the banks of the River Avon, with peaceful riverside walks along the gently flowing water.
Inside, each cottage is beautifully finished, and there is plenty of space for the whole family. The Orangery and The Potting Shed are both single storey cottages, and completely self-contained. Trafalgar Cottage has space enough for all to congregate in the large country dining kitchen for sociable mealtimes. Outside, each property has its own garden, with room for all to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the surrounding countryside.
The Avon Valley Path, which stretches from Salisbury to Christchurch, runs right alongside the cottage, offering beautiful woodland and riverside walks. A circular footpath loop takes you to nearby Downton, the oldest village on the Avon Valley Path, home to a couple of pubs, a café, takeaway and selection of shops. The New Forest National Park, with miles of footpaths and cycle tracks to explore amongst the free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys is a short drive away. Other local attractions include Breamore House, the New Forest Water Park and Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve. The city of Salisbury, with its Cathedral, shops and eateries, is just 7 miles away.

There is private parking for plenty of cars. EV Charging This property offers electric vehicle charging via a Type 2 32amp electric vehicle charger (can be used on any car with type 2 charge socket) within the car port at the main cottage, and the parking area for the smaller cottages . Please let us know at the time of booking; there will be a £30.00 per vehicle per stay charge. Please bring your own charging cable.
Included: Bed linen and towels (guests must provide their own beach towels if required), central heating, internet and Wi-Fi. Welcome basket of locally sourced products and logs in the appropriate season. Mobile reception is generally reasonable, although please check with your provider prior to booking.
Pets: Two dogs accepted in each cottage. Must be over the age of one year old (unless agreed with the owner prior to booking). Dogs must be fully housetrained, well behaved and kept downstairs and off the furniture. Please note a £30 pet charge per dog per week applies.
Children: All ages welcome. Travel cot and highchair provided on request. Please bring own cot bedding.

Bicycle Storage: Available within the car port. Please bring your own padlock.
Short Breaks: Available all year round from a Friday or a Monday.
Beaches: Highcliffe Beach, Avon Beach and Mudeford all within 25 miles (45 minutes by car).
Local Facilities: The Wooden Spoon pub and Spinnaker Fish Bar (1.8 miles), Co-Op Food, The Borough Café and The Goat pub (2.3 miles), The Horse & Groom, Woodgreen (5 miles). Other local attractions include The New Forest Water Park (8 miles), Moors Valley Country Park (15 miles) and Paultons Park & Peppa Pig World (12 miles). Salisbury with its Cathedral, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants 7 miles.
