Duke's Lodge is set in the idyllic area of the wool towns and is one of the oldest buildings in this timeless Suffolk village. With medieval sloping wooden floors and quirky wonky beams, this cottage has been lovingly restored yet remains respectful of the original features.
The cottage is set over two floors and features vaulted ceilings, a variety of original period features and a private garden. The entrance is off the street and leads you into the cosy ground floor sitting room with a wood burning stove and smart television. The ground floor also holds a bathroom, a modern kitchen and a dining room that opens up through split stable doors into a cottage garden. You will find the two bedrooms on the first floor, together with a drawing room perfect for relaxing. There is also a cloakroom with wash basin and WC.
The deep character and history has been rejuvenated to respect its heyday in the late 14th century as a council meeting house at the height of the wool trade. With three great pubs nearby and surrounded by beautiful sleepy rolling countryside, this cottage is the idyllic hideaway for couples or families.
