This tastefully converted barn is set in the gently rolling countryside of the Brett Valley and offers a wonderful place to escape to and relax in. The main house, Dove House, is a fine example of a typical 14th Century Suffolk Hall House and has been a working farm for hundreds of years. Stable Cottage forms part of the original 19th Century farm buildings which have been sympathetically converted and brought into the 21st Century. Sleeping up to six guests in four bedrooms with two bathrooms, the property offers flexible accommodation for couples and families wishing to experience a lesser well-known, but equally charming part of this beautiful county.

Stable Cottage boasts all ground floor accommodation and has a light and airy feel with high ceilings throughout. The open-plan kitchen-diner has a well-equipped kitchen with an impressive range style cooker and a dining area seating up to six guests. The generously sized hallway offers a further seating area off the kitchen so you can put your feet up and keep the designated cook company whilst they cook up a storm in the kitchen. There should be no arguments over who is doing the washing up as there is a handy dishwasher for your convenience. The cosy sitting room with wood burning stove is a wonderful place to relax and unwind in during the cooler winter months. The two larger bedrooms have beautiful, wooden 5' king-size beds and the two smaller bedrooms have adult-sized 3' single beds. Each of the bedrooms have vast vaulted ceilings with beams and share the two well-appointed bathrooms. If your legs are weary from a long day of exploring the local area on foot, then what better way to relax than in the luxurious free-standing bath.

Guests have use of a private patio and garden area with outdoor furniture and charcoal barbecue which are accessed via the French doors in the sitting room. There is a shared outdoor swimming pool which guests are welcome to enjoy during the warmer summer months. As the property is fortunate to sit in the grounds of Dove House, there are many paths around the fields which are now home to thoroughbred mares and a small herd of pedigree Hereford cattle, and you are able to walk along the picturesque river bank or head out on a public footpath away from the far end of the property.

It is also possible to stay at The Old Barn, a further barn conversion on the site which sleeps up to seven guests in four bedrooms. If you are interested in booking both properties for a family holiday which is suitable for all the generations, please give us a call.
