Upon arrival there was left over food from who I can only assume is the owners of the property, as this was a last minute booking I assume the fridge and freezer was not emptied. The floors were filthy, after cleaning them the cloths were black. The tumble dryer is broken, the sofa was awful, old and uncomfortable. The rug stunk of old dog. Although the garden was lovely, we did not live out there. The heating is off, even though it was freezing. It would not allow us to turn it on, the covers were as thin as a piece of paper, this was May time we stayed and ourself and the kids had to sleep in dressing gowns. The owners lived in the garage on the drive way which was a bit weird to say. After what I thought was an awful stay I was presented with an invoice for a broken sofa!!!!! Which was £30 by their neighbour to fix apparently. The invoice was from SILVER MARIGOLD local computer repairs!!! After ringing these people at 12:56pm they laughed at me when I asked if they repaired sofas, in which I then explained about the invoice they quickly backtracked and said they were a friend. After the call I phoned Sykes Cottages at 13:13pm and if by magic the invoice was cancelled at 13pm. You can see the rip in the sofa was a scam and I have reported this in hopes nobody else gets scammed like us! I would never recommend this place and I’m so disgusted in the way they have sent an old photo of a ripped sofa to pretend it was from me.

We had lots of sunshine so we were able to enjoy the wonderful garden area. House met all our needs for a family group of 7 adults. Pub, shop, takeaway a short distance away. Each was used during our stay. Very helpful owner as well. Thank you.

Comfortable beds and great showers and a well stocked kitchen with pots, pans and utensils. Immaculately kept garden with a lovely sun trap at the top and great to sit outside in the peace and quiet. Great local pub with delicious food a few minutes walk away, doesn’t open on Mondays and Tuesday but the friendless and food were def worth a visit or two. Location was great for days out to the seaside and country walks. We would definitely recommend this lovely house.
