8 Oaks Court is a beautiful coastal retreat with a twist. The property offers a calm and relaxing space for family and friends to come together for a luxury self-catering break away.
The ground floor is a social space with open plan kitchen/dining/living area and cloakroom. On the first floor are two spacious bedrooms, one with en-suite and family bathroom. On the second floor is the third bedroom complete with sea views.
Ground floor
Entering into the spacious hallway with space to hang your coats, hard flooring runs throughout the property.
Kitchen
A stylish and well equipped kitchen awaits the chef of the party. Cook up a storm with the array of kitchen appliances on offer, these include an electric oven with four ring gas hob and extractor fan above, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle and toaster.
Sitting/Dining Room
This beautifully decorated room has been designed with elegance and comfort in mind. The traditional wooden table comfortable seats six, it is positioned to be push to one side to allow more space or pulled out to create a comfort space for your to enjoy your meals.
An array of comfortable seating with side tables creates an ideal space for entertaining, whether it is games night, enjoying the smart TV or enjoying listening to the record player, there is something for all.
First Floor
Carpeted stairs lead up to the first floor landing area.
Bedroom 1
Located at the rear of the property, this elegant room offers a space to retreat to after a busy day of exploring. A double bed awaits with bedside tables and chairs. There is a beautiful dressing table with mirror and chair. This room benefits from a walk in storage space with hanging rails, this is an ideal space for those looking to use the travel cot.
En-suite Shower Room
With walk in shower, wash basin and WC.
Bedroom 2
Located at the front of the property, an ideal space for both adults and children to enjoy. Two magnificent single beds await, with bedside table and lamp. There is a dressing table with mirror and chair.
Family Bathroom
Grab a glass of wine and good book and enjoy a long soak in the bath. This room also offers a shower over the bath, wash basin, heated towel rail and WC.
Second Floor
Carpeted stairs lead up to the second floor.
Bedroom 3
This room truly does give the wow factor, an expansive space on offer with stunning sea views across the roof tops.
A space to switch off and enjoy peace and tranquility. A super-king bed awaits with bedside tables and lamps. There is a super comfortable arm chair with foot stall, an ideal space to enjoy an afternoon reading a good book with a cup of tea. In addition there is a dressing table with mirror and chair.
Outdoor
8 Oaks Court benefits from an ample outdoor space, perfect for long alfresco lunches and dinners in the warmer months. There is an outdoor corner sofa with coffee table and BBQ for guests to enjoy. For those looking to relax, why not enjoy the hammock.
There are two parking spaces located in the communal parking area at Oaks Court.
Thorpeness is a coastal village resting between Aldeburgh and Southwold. The village is known for its historic windmill and expansive pebble beach and offers a selection of attractions including boat hire at Thorpeness Mere and selection of eateries, while you can stock up on essentials at the nearby convenience stores found at Aldeburgh. Within easy reach of the village is the popular coastal town of Aldeburgh where you can find further attractions and amenities such as another beach, independent shops and coastal walks.

Thank you! The cottage is well placed in Thorpeness - a stoneâs throw from the beach and the village pub. And the village is all easily walkable. The cottage itself was stylish and comfortable - we were very happy staying there for a week and would definitely recommend it. The water pressure was great and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped too. There were a few issues we had though, which are worth sharing to improve the stays for future holidayers. We had specifically requested a travel cot, which had been confirmed by Sykes multiple times, but when we got there there was no sign of one. We eventually found one in a cupboard but it was broken. Thankfully Sykes dropped off another travel cot that we could use, shortly after Iâd called to alert them. The other main issue we had was that we couldnât access the property via the front door! It is operated by a fob, the mechanics of which were simply not working. Thankfully we were able to get into the property with an actual key through the back door for the entirety of our stay. Two other small things - although the heating was good and efficient, several of the radiators were in need of bleeding so werenât giving off heat. And there was no dishwasher salt or rinse aid provided (the dishwasher had all the alert lights on for these) so we needed to buy some and we left it there for future visitors.

The beds are very comfortable and everything is of a good quality. There were lots of very helpful extras; spare dogs lead, poo bags, phone chargers, Dyson fans in each room (it was warm upstairs even though the weather wasnât, so they were very welcome), cleaning products and cooking products. The description is not clear about the garden which is a good sized patio space with good quality garden furniture and a gas bbq. The Dolphin pub is a few minutes stroll and serves great food, and the beach is also a couple of minutes away. Thorpeness is a pretty, quiet village. The only thing I would mention is that the twin room could do with some clothes hanging space but as we were one family group we shared with the double room.

And very little draws. There was no garden just a slabbed area which could do with a clean up looks like not been used this season .we had trouble getting on wifi and due to lack of an information pack which I notice had been reported on previous review we had to contact you to sort it not understanding it was linked to the sky tv a simple information pack on the coffee table would have saved yours and our time. The key entry needs to be explained in your write up or pre holiday email.
