About this property

This delightful cottage, set between farms and woodland, is an easy drive away from the Heritage Coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold. Excellent eateries abound and nearby are castles, bird reserves, centres for golf, swimming, boating, tennis and crabbing.

Peak Hill Cottage is set in a very quiet woodland where deer, rabbits and other wildlife roam next to two farms, one selling organic produce. The local towns of Saxmundham and Leiston are just a short drive away as is the railway station with services into Ipswich and London.

For food lovers, there are many top quality restaurants, good family-friendly tearooms, cafes, pubs, excellent farm shops and fish stalls within an easy drive.

The location is ideal for trips to the Heritage Coastal towns between Orford, Aldeburgh and the quintessential seaside resort of Southwold. Nearby are local castles and bird reserves, whilst further afield is the historic Sutton Hoo. There are many rural walks along with local cycle hire and within a 15-20 minute drive there is relaxed shopping at Snape Maltings or centres for golf, swimming, boating, tennis and world championship crabbing.

Pretty cottage, comfortable, warm and well equipped. Quiet rural setting but well placed for many interesting places to visit.

Very comfortable cottage and extremely cosy. Situated on a very quiet road which meant not having to use the A12 to get to coastal towns/villages. Good pubs in easy reach.

Our stay was excellent. We were group of friends ( 3 couples in mid 50 and 1 boy). I have to say that photos do not do the justice to this beautiful house - it looks good on photos but so much better in person. Very spacious, warm and homely. There were 2 Christmas trees in both reception rooms. Everything you need was there (we brought tea towels from home). We found a hamper with eggs, fresh bread, jam, coffee, tea, wine, champagne and large bottle of milk in the fridge. Such a nice touch. Thank you so much! There were also fresh flowers in vases on both tables. We only had problem first night in the evening as hot water in the bathroom was off, but we phoned our housekeeper in the morning, and it was sorted promptly. There is a beautiful garden which we could not use because of the weather but I can only imagine how beautiful it must be staying here in the summer. We visited surrounding areas (all towns/villages are from 10 - 25 min drive). Saxmundham, which is 8 min drive has a large Waitrose and Tesco. There is also lots of Antique shops, all within 10 min drive. Our favourite places were Southwold and Snape Maltings. Lots of beautiful landscape everywhere and all villages we drove past look like from fairy tale. We were very happy with the house and stay and would love to come back in spring or summer. Thank you very much!
