A simply superb holiday home, Church Farm Barn in Dunwich near Westleton in Suffolk, offers spacious and well-presented accommodation which is ideal for a holiday get-together of family and friends. The owners have carefuly restored and extended this beautiful barn to create a space for families and friends to come together with all the mod cons you would expect. When guests start to get hungry, the spacious kitchen/diner is a great area for the designated chef to prepare food for everyone and the extensive dining table is all set up ready for visitors to enjoy long, lingering meals together. Why not take a night off from cooking and call in caterers to prepare a feast for the whole holiday party? The property boasts not one but two sitting rooms, one more formal and the other which is a great space for movie night. When it’s time for bed, guests can take their pick from any one of the five delightfully presented bedrooms which all offer an idyllic and relaxing getaway, all with there own designated shower/bathroom. In the morning after a refreshing shower or bath and a hearty breakfast, head out for the day and get exploring. Dunwich is nearby which is well worth a visit with the towns of Aldeburgh, Saxmundham and Southwold also great destinations for a day out. The whole area has so many walks, hikes and cycle routes on offer around the marshlands and Dunwich Forest or Heath, and RSPB Minsmere is also close by which is a haven for birdwatchers. Jump in the car for a scenic drive to attractions such as Framlingham Castle, Sutton Hoo, Go Ape Thetford and Africa Alive Zoological Reserve. If you’re looking for a relaxing holiday in a rural idyll, then a visit to Church Farm Barn is a must.
Westleton is an idyllic village near the Suffolk coast, nestled between Southwold and Aldeburg and offers all the attributes you could hope for in a Suffolk village, with a village green complete with pond and ducks. The village is easily accessible from the local train station at Darsham approximately two miles away. The village has a store, a bookshop where you can also enjoy a tea or coffee whilst browsing, an old fashioned garage, as well as two pubs, The White Horse Inn and The Westleton Crown, one of Suffolk’s best traditional inns where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate held their first wedding anniversary. Every August, Westleton hosts the infamous Barrel Rolling Fair where contestants have to roll barrels down the Village Green using a pole, and the men have to roll the barrel back up the hill too. Barrels are supplied and all are welcome to join in! The local Emmerdale Farm Shop and Butchery as well as a tea shop is approximately a mile away. The area is a haven for nature lovers with Westleton Heath National Nature Reserve, Dunwich Forest, Dunwich Beach with its famous fish and chip shop located on the beach, and the rspb Minsmere, all close by. The town of Saxmundham, 6 miles away, is located on the River Fromus, in the heart of Suffolk’s Heritage Coast and is well serviced with independent shops, supermarkets and a train station, as well as art galleries, a weekly market and a farmers’ market.

As a group of 8 (4 couples) it was perfect in size having 4 en-suite bedrooms, a large kitchen/diner, a separate TV room and a large lounge. Everything was modern and spotless. We loved the area as it was peaceful, with beautiful walks on the beach 5 mins from the house, a great local pub and within easy reach of Southwold and Aldeburgh by car. We would highly recommend it.
