Heath View is a spacious cottage praised for its excellent location near Minsmere and Southwold, offering great walks and birdwatching opportunities. The property is well-equipped with modern technology and a new kitchen, making it comfortable for mixed generation parties and dog-friendly. Some guests noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, but these did not detract from the overall positive experience.
Cleanliness received mixed reviews, with one guest reporting the property was not cleaned upon arrival, while another noted it was cleaned to a high standard. The presence of flies and a persistent smell were also mentioned.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to nature reserves, heathland, and birdwatching sites. It is considered ideal for walks and exploring the surrounding area, despite some mention of nearby pig farms.
Guests found the property spacious and generally comfortable, with good beds and living areas. However, some guests mentioned uncomfortable beds and a hole in a bedroom door, suggesting room for improvement.
The property is well-equipped with smart TVs, an air fryer, and a coffee maker. However, issues such as an uninstalled oven and grill, and an outdated aerial, indicate some shortcomings in facilities and maintenance.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owner, so this category cannot be scored.

When we arrived the place wasn’t cleaned. Contacted owner, sent cleaner round, a really quick clean. Beds uncomfortable, aerial needs up grading as very few stations to watch. The house could be very nice if updated. It is nicely situated, and very spacious.

The cottage is well set out with two lounges. This was ideal for a mixed generation party. There is plenty of equipment and up- to- date technology ( 2 smart TVs, air fryer and coffee maker). On the down side it is surrounded by pig farms and, when we arrived there were a lot of flies. We were able to manage this problem but an underlying piggy smell was unavoidable. In addition, when we first got there, the utility room had a strong smell. This was reduced but never fully eliminated by ventilation. These drawbacks are reflected in a reasonable price and did not spoil our holiday. It is close to Minsnere bird sanctuary and on 18 minutes from Southwold.I have recommended it on balance
