About this property

Sweffling Hall, is nestled between Framlingham and Aldeburgh in Suffolk, featuring six individual safari tents; Linnet, Skylark, Swift, Cuckoo, Kestrel and Swallow. You have the option to book the entire site or choose from any of the six individual tents. Lantern and Larks is an ideal destination for a family getaway, with each tent fully equipped with a spacious living area, cosy wood-burning stove, outdoor seating and comfortable bedrooms.

Each tent at our Lantern & Larks locations, accommodates six guests across three bedrooms. There is one king size room, one twin room and one bunk bedroom. Inside, there is an open plan living area with a spacious kitchen featuring a double gas hob, a dining table, a comfortable seating area and a wood-burning stove. Each tent also has private facilities with running water, as well as its own outdoor seating area with a firepit and unlimited logs included. Our sites are off-grid, and we provide rechargeable lanterns and hot water bottles to keep you cosy in the evenings - though it’s always worth packing for a little bit of everything when it comes to British weather.

If the full site isn’t available, you can check the individual listings, as some of the safari tents may still be available.

There is an abundance of on site activities that can be booked in advance such as Nature Meditation, Forest Bathing, Beachcombing, Astronomy Sessions and a Horse and Cart Ride. Please see the details in the additional information.

Sweffling Hall is perfectly placed for exploring some of Suffolk’s most loved coastal spots. Aldeburgh is just a short drive away, with its pebble beach, colourful seafront, independent shops and famous fish and chips, ideal for a relaxed afternoon by the sea.

Nearby, Southwold makes another great day out, with its sandy beach, traditional pier, lighthouse and plenty of places to stop for an ice cream or browse the local shops. While you’re there, you can also visit Adnams, famous for its brewery and distillery tours, or pick up a bottle to enjoy back at your tent beside the firepit.

Closer to the site, you’ll find peaceful estuaries, reed beds, walking trails and charming villages to explore at your own pace. Whether it’s a beach day with the family, a coastal walk, birdwatching or simply enjoying good food by the sea, there’s plenty nearby before returning to your safari tent for an evening around the firepit.

For something closer to the site, The White Horse is well worth a visit. Full of character and a little different from your typical country pub, it may not be for everyone, but that’s part of its charm and it’s definitely one of those places that leaves an impression.

For something slower paced, explore Framlingham with its historic castle and market town charm, visit Snape Maltings for shopping, galleries and riverside walks, or head to Woodbridge along the River Deben. The surrounding estuaries, reed beds and marshland are also a wonderful place for walking, wildlife spotting and enjoying Suffolk’s big open landscapes.

Sweffling Hall is the kind of place where little adventures happen naturally. You’ll soon realise that the sounds of the countryside, fresh morning air, evenings around the firepit and the freedom of children running outdoors laughing and playing become the simple pleasures and the moments you remember the most.

Lovely stay - Andrew very helpful but not intrusive. Clean and luxurious ‘tent’. Lovely memories of evenings by the fire pit eating marshmallows and watching the stars come out.

We had the perfect stay! Andrew was there to greet us and showed us round the lovely site, with lots of local recommendations. The honesty shop was so lovely, with all the extras you need when camping & local produce. The site itself was so peaceful. We saw deer while having our morning coffee! And the tent was cosy, warm and very well stocked with everything we needed. We’ll be back! Thank you Andrew and family.
