There are excellent walks in the surrounding Suffolk countryside, offering views of the local scenery and wildlife. Cretingham, on the River Debden, is 1.5 miles away and has a lovely traditional Suffolk pub serving home-cooked food and with a cosy open fire. Visit Woodbridge, known for its boutique shops, galleries and restaurants. If you want to stay outside, walk the Deben Estuary Coast Path or take a cruise on the river before visiting the Anglo-Saxon burial sites at the National Trust’s Sutton Hoo. Both attractions are within 15 miles of the property. Alternatively, drive less than 20 miles to spend a fun day in the traditional seaside towns of Aldeburgh, with its shingle beach, or Southwold, with its superb sandy beach.
