The proof as always was in the pudding as they say- and I have to say Sandlings delivered in every respect. We would recommend it to one and all but would just ask that as it becomes more popular we will still be able to book another week maybe in the Autumn!!! We had a fabulous week. The weather was fine and warm and as ever the coastline and inland attractions delivered. Who needs to get on an aeroplane when we have such delights on our doorstep!

It was very well equipped and with our own parking space outside. Close to local pub and shop within 5 minute walk of each. I would not hesitate in recommending.

Hollesley has a fascinating Church with amazing carvings on the pews (dating from 1952) and itâs worth visiting just to see those. Look for the feet! Itâs an ideal base for exploring Suffolk and neighbouring parts of Essex and for walking. The Estuaryâs are extremely attractive. Sutton Hoo is minutes away and there are several other NT properties worth visiting as is Snape Maltings. The accommodation is well equipped, warm and welcoming, with parking for 2 cars on the drive in front of the garage and additional on road parking if needed. The top floor bedroom, dressing area and ensuite are large and very pleasant. The two bedrooms on the first floor share a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Older or less agile clients would benefit from a handrail on the wall to assist them in and out. My reason for giving a score of 4 rather than 5 for comfort relates to the very noisy floor between the first and top floor. It was exceptionally creeky and although you could not hear voices or the television when on, you could hear every footstep and also the sound of water flowing when the shower was in use or the toilet flushed. I am aware that this is due to the build quality but as the friends on the top floor got up several times during the night it did disturb the sleep of those below. The door to the double bedroom on the first floor was poorly fitted so there was significant light intrusion when the landing light was on. People who are noise or light sensitive need to be aware of this as it did detract from what was otherwise an exceptional property. The owner was extremely helpful in making suggestions about where to eat in the area. There is a pub in the village which we didnât go to but when passing noted that it isnât open every day, or not out of season. There is a Morrisons which opens early and closes at 10pm a very short walk from the accommodation. Despite the issues I have mentioned this is well worth booking.
