Guests say

Valley Farm Cottage is a spacious and well-equipped property in a beautiful and convenient location, close to local amenities. Guests have enjoyed the homely feel, large garden, and the decking area with a BBQ. The open plan kitchen/dining area is ideal for families or groups. Some guests mentioned minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance, but these did not significantly detract from the overall positive experience.

Guests have reported issues with cleanliness, including a sticky kitchen floor, crumbs on worktops, unclean toilets, stained towels, and bedding that did not smell fresh. These concerns suggest that cleanliness needs improvement.

The cottage is appreciated for its quiet area, proximity to a local shop, pub, and rail station. However, some guests noted the presence of an animal disposal facility nearby, which occasionally caused disturbance with early morning traffic and infrequent unpleasant smells.

The property is described as spacious and comfortable, with a homely feel. Guests have enjoyed lounging outside and the comfortable furnishings. However, concerns were raised about the suitability of the stairs for less-mobile guests and the lack of stand-up showers in the upstairs bathrooms.

The cottage is well-equipped with a BBQ, cot, and highchair, and guests were impressed by the kitchen and shower. Some guests mentioned missing items like dishwasher tablets and a grill pan, and a minor issue with a smoke alarm, indicating room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the property owners. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Thank you for letting us use your property for a special reason.

Loved the patio decking in the sunshine.

Excellent location with no significant noise from the abattoir, just the occasional large truck rumbling along the track at the rear. There were two matters which, for us personally, let it down… 1. The two sets of main stairs are both sharply curved with narrow treads. This makes it difficult to carry suitcases up and would also represent a challenge for older or less-mobile users. 2. Neither of the upstairs bathrooms has a suitable stand-up shower, just an attachment to the bath which is situated under a low sloping ceiling.
