No smoking. Please note: There is a river in the grounds 20 yards away.. Commanding a waterside position, located directly alongside the banks of the River Waveney, the gateway to the southern Broads, and a short walk away is the pretty town of Beccles. This property is perfect for a larger sized family gathering, but not suitable for parties. Nothing has been forgotten; guests will delight in the excellent standard of furnishing and comfort throughout.
The cottage has the most desired location in Beccles, having your own river frontage, perfect opportunity for boating activity, and where fishermen will delight in fishing directly from the pretty riverside garden. Enjoy the waterway with kayaks, canoes and day boat motor launches, available for hire locally. Or enjoy a guided boat tour, where you can really just sit back and soak up this incredible National Park. You are just a short stroll from the heart of the historical and pretty market town, located on the Norfolk and Suffolk border in the Broads National Park.
The town itself boasts independent boutiques and chain shops, excellent collection of eateries, including fine dining to many cafés serving home made cakes and savouries to delight many palates. The weekly market is excellent for all things local, should you wish to kick back and enjoy a night of cooking and dining in. On the doorstep is the Lido open air heated outdoor swimming pool, popular with many local swimmers.
Explore all the attractions that Norfolk and Suffolk have to offer including Southwold, 14 miles, with its seafront, pier and summer theatre, or Dunwich Heath and beach. There is also rspb Minsmere to visit, Aldeburgh, 28 miles, with its fishing boats and local seafood, and Snape Maltings, 24 miles, with its concert hall. Pleasurewood Hills theme park and Africa Alive are not to be missed, and children will love the treetop experience at Bewilderwood adventure park. Shops, pubs and restaurants 200 yards.

Amazing week with family at this beautiful cottage by the river. Plenty of fishing and time spent in the hot tub and cinema room. Beccles has everything you need in terms of amenities and the outdoor lido is an added bonus. One slight concern was not being able to get anyone to answer on the emergency numbers left in the information booklet when the water went off for the whole day. The owners were apologetic when eventually got through and the situation with the water was out of their control. May be adding the utility numbers to the contact book in case this happens again would be helpful. Otherwise a great stay and would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a relaxing week away.

Nice place to stay, very well equipped, peaceful setting with the river just at the bottom of the garden. Beccles has all you might need and it a good location for exploring the local areas.
