Guests say

Dressmaker's Cottage is a warm, cosy, and quirky property with a secure garden and pleasant countryside views. It's well-equipped for family gatherings and is situated close to Southwold and Covehithe beach. Guests appreciate the ample parking, communal areas, and the secure outdoor space.

While many guests found the cottage cosy and well set out, there were several mentions of dust and general cleanliness not meeting expectations upon arrival. These issues seem to be sporadic rather than consistent.

The cottage is well-liked for its proximity to local amenities, beaches, and attractions like Southwold. However, some guests noted the proximity to the A12 road as a source of noise, which affected their experience.

Guests generally found the cottage comfortable, with cosy communal areas, secure outdoor spaces, and comfy beds. The presence of a fire and ample space for families contributed to the comfort level.

The property is praised for its well-equipped kitchen and ample space. However, there are comments about the need for more frying pans, a washing line, and issues with an eggy smell from the drains. The mention of a cabin that no longer exists suggests some outdated information.

A welcome bag with snacks was mentioned, indicating a degree of thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not consistently referenced and there is no guarantee of their provision, this is reflected in the score.

Great cottage for a group of us, comfy and cosy with space for children to play and adults to relax. There was an eggy smell to the drains at times. We had some cleaning issues on arrival but these were resolved on the day.

This is a lovely cottage. Wonderful sunsets, comfy beds, great shower, dog safe garden and a lovely lovely holiday. The accommodation was generous in size and amenities - games to play, comfy seats, comfy clean beds and not far from Southwold. We loved it. Felt relaxed and enjoyed both the property and local amenities and attractions. Very well situated. Thank you!

Overall the cottage was very charming and well equipped. The Chinese just up the road was lovely and the short drive to Lowestoft was perfect. You are only a couple of minutes drive from a Morrisons and an Aldi too which is helpful. Although the cottage itself was quirky and decorated nicely, on arrival we did not feel that the cottage was particularly clean. This was disappointing as we were not able to access the property till 4pm so that it could be made ready. A welcome bag had been left with a few snacks which was a nice touch, however we could not find any information or a welcome pack. Eventually we found one under the coffee table which gave very outdated information. For instance it made reference to a cabin with games and TV which is obviously not there anymore. One of the biggest issues we had was the drainage smell coming from the bathroom when the taps were running, it was almost unbearable. We do appreciate that the cottage is old but it really did put a bit of a damper on our experience as every time you wanted a shower you were hit with the awful smell. Apart from this the cottage was big and we did have a nice week however for the money we paid we were disappointed. Hopefully these issues can be rectified in time for the new guests as the cottage itself could be a really nice space.
