The owner's responsiveness and the occasional welcome gifts contribute to a highly recommended stay.

Reviewers frequently highlight the spotless condition of the apartment, with several comments specifically mentioning its cleanliness. The term 'immaculately clean' suggests a very high standard maintained throughout.

The location is highly praised for its convenience to the railway station and ease of access to local attractions. The proximity to Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales, along with good transport links, is frequently appreciated.

Comfort is a recurring theme, with guests finding the apartment spacious and well-equipped. The only minor drawback mentioned is a preference for a larger bed by one guest, but overall, the comfort level is rated very highly.

The owner's thoughtfulness is evident in the detailed communication and occasional welcome gifts mentioned by guests. While these gifts are warmly received, it is important to note that such gestures, though delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

Spinning Jenny is a luxury, contemporary apartment in the newly converted Horace Mill which is situated in the delightful North Yorkshire village on Cononley. It is three miles from the vibrant market town of Skipton with a great selection of restaurants and bars, known as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Plus, there are regular trains to Skipton and to Leeds; it is no surprise that Skipton features so highly in polls as one of the best places to live in Britain. Spinning Jenny makes for a wonderful dwelling for couples or a family of four who are embarking on their next adventure to Yorkshire. Step into the apartment where you will first find a stylish bathroom, where you can indulge in a refreshing soak in the bath or rinse in the shower after a day of exploring. There is also a handy utility cupboard housing a washer/dryer, perfect for keeping your holiday wardrobe fresh! Be welcomed into the spacious open-plan living area, where you can look forward to rustling up mouth-watering meals in the fully equipped kitchen, with the help of the electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, along with a dishwasher for those fuss-free clean-ups! Gather round the dining table for four to savour a delicious meal, or if the weather is nice, why not dine alfresco out on the decked balcony where you can soak up the outstanding views of the rolling countryside as you eat. As the evening cools, retreat inside to the plush sofas and snuggle up with a glass of wine, as you select some entertainment from the Smart TV with Netflix, enhanced by the SONOS sound system available. The Village and Mill nestle in the Aire Valley and the apartment has outstanding views across the rolling countryside; you will wake up to these views from your bed in the morning and see them from the rest of the apartment as well as from the balcony in the evenings, whilst you sit back with a refreshing beverage and watch the grazing sheep and rabbits. There are good walks from the doorstep and two good pubs in easy walking distance with excellent menu ratings; the Pennine Way, long distance footpath, passes about two miles away. There is also a very good local village shop selling a good range of provisions. The area has a huge range of attractions, it is a great base for touring, walking and cycling through the outstanding scenery of the Yorkshire Dales and Howgills National Park, the Forrest of Bowland (a lesser-known jewel) and the Pennines. Enjoy great days out in Wharfdale, Airedale and Malham, Wensleydale, Dentdale, and Swaledale. For the more energetic, scale one of the famous mountain peaks for sensational vistas; Simon Seat, Penn-y-ghent, Ingleborough, Whernside, Great Whernside, and Buckden Pike for example. Then there are the two world famous historic sites, also accessible on the regular train service, one is Haworth with the Bronte Museum and the walk on to Bronte waterfalls and Top Withens set in Bronte country. The other is the world heritage site of Salts Mill and Saltaire with their bars, restaurants and craft shops plus David Hockney exhibition. While you are in Saltaire, why not pay a visit to the tap room of the Saltaire Brewery and sample one of its many craft beers like Saltaire Blonde? Alternatively, you can visit one of the many historic towns in the area; these include Ilkley, Harrogate, Skipton, Settle, Appleby, Hawes and its famous cheese making creamery, Ripon, Knaresborough and York. If you love historic houses, estates and gardens you will also be spoilt for choice, for instance: Ripley Castle, Harrogate; East Riddlesden Hall, Keighley; Castle Howard; Allerton Castle, Knaresborough; Fountains Hall and Abbey, Ripon and of course, Bolton Abbey, near Ilkley. Don’t forget the RHS gardens at Harlow Carr near Harrogate with its own Bettys Café; no trip to the area is complete without a visit to at least one of the several famous Bettys Cafés (Skipton, Harrogate, York, North Allerton and RHS Harlow Carr Gardens)! There are a number of superb restaurants and cafes – even more if you include Leeds which is so accessible by rail; for a special treat there is the Angel at Hetton with its Michelin star, nine miles away. If you enjoy scenic train travel, take a trip on the famous ‘Settle-Carlisle’ train line which takes you from Skipton through the western dales, over the high Pennine hills and down the Eden Valley to the beautifully restored Carlisle station on the west coast main line; plus, you can travel from Skipton and though the Bowland area to Lancaster and Morecambe. For a special treat, change at Carnforth and go round the Cumbria coast to Carlisle and come back on the Carlisle, Settle, Skipton line – all possible in a day. Great days out, ready access to a great variety of eating possibilities, and relaxing place to stay and sleep in preparation for more tomorrow; Spinning Jenny has everything you need for a fantastic break!

Cononley, a small community in Airedale, is located just four miles from Skipton. Some of the village's 17th-century legacy may still be seen in some of the buildings, while many more from the 19th century can still be found. In addition, there are two pubs and a mainline railway station that connects with trains to Leeds, Skipton, and the Settle to Carlisle Railway.

An ancient castle, a lovely old parish church, and a vibrant market line the high street of Skipton, a town renowned as "The Gateway to the Dales." Skipton lies nearby. Visit the Embsay Steam Railway or the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, or take a canal cruise on a historic barge.

It’s a lovely apartment in a lovely old mill, ideally situated to explore the dales. The apartment is well equipped with all mod cons and is very comfortable. We would definitely go back there and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to friends and family. Thank you for letting us stay there

Loved being so close to the train station Lots of walks nearby, although we didnt do any this time due to my husbands disability. The lift was a great help for him. Lots to do in surrounding area and we would definitely come back again.
