The Long View Yorkshire promises something spectacular in its name, and, wow, it really delivers! The large self-catering holiday home sleeps 16 people in six / seven spacious bedrooms, affording you and your guests plenty of peace and privacy. Whether relaxing in the outdoor hot tub or sauna in the private spa garden, or on the patio, or enjoying down time in one of the sitting rooms or fantastic party room with pool table and bar, you can see for miles across the spectacular countryside of Yorkshire. Hebden Bridge, Heptonstall village and a friendly country pub are all nearby. There is also an excellent farm shop two miles away. It's a fantastic central UK location if you're getting together with your extended family or friends to celebrate Christmas or a milestone event, as there is lots of room for socialising while still allowing people space to escape for some quiet time.

Heptonstall, home to the famous poets Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath, is a pretty medieval village nearby. Hebden Bridge is just 3 miles away, a popular market town with boutique shops, galleries and restaurants, and a thriving arts and music scene. Take time to stop at a pub or a tea room to fortify yourself for the return walk home, or take the public minibus.

There are superb footpaths and bridleways from the door (including the Pennine Bridleway a few minutes away). Within 15 minutes drive are Hebden Bridge, and Hardcastle Crags with its National Trust wooded trails and cafe. Day trips include Halifax, with attractions like the Grade one listed Piece Hall shopping and music venue (check their program for big-name bands), Shibden Hall and Estate, and Eureka! The National Children's Museum. Haworth, home of the Brontes, and Worth valley Steam Railway are both about 30 minutes' drive from The Long View Yorkshire, as is Skipton with its historic castle and market. Other attractions include Bolton Abbey and the Yorkshire Dales. It is also possible to get to Leeds and Manchester (forty minutes by train).

The Long View Yorkshire is so good that you may choose not to go anywhere but to stay and enjoy the surroundings that include woodland and wild pastures, as well as lawn and patios. There's a games room with pool table, bar and disco ball, board games and a games console, and two additional living rooms with large smart TVs. There's an outdoor table tennis table in summer. Bookings are available all year round, with short breaks possible.

Please note there are a few steps between some of the rooms on the ground floor, including 2 steps down into the downstairs bedroom.

The owner can provide contacts for private chefs, catering, cocktail masterclasses, spa treatments and yoga. It is possible to pre-order a fabulous locally-sourced tapas style Mexican / Spanish buffet to be delivered for Friday or Saturday evenings at a reasonable price, a delicious start to your holiday.

There is a sauna and hot tub in the newly-created private spa garden, with a cold plunge tank April-September. There are also 2 golf courses nearby.

The Long View Yorkshire is a huge holiday house with accommodation over two levels. Some of the bedrooms have a versatile layout that you can configure to your requirements.

Downstairs:

You'll know you're staying somewhere special as soon as you cross the threshold into the welcoming flagstone hallway. Thanks to a double-height ceiling and an impressive staircase leading to the first floor, it feels even more spacious.

Flagstones and original oak beams continue in both sitting rooms, each comfortably furnished with sofas that beg you to flop down, light the log burner, and put your feet up with a glass of wine and a good film on the Smart TV.

Guests will gravitate to the stunning kitchen/dining room where there is a relaxed leather Chesterfield sofa for settling back with a cup of tea in front of the Smart TV. Cooking for 16 people is normally no picnic, if you'll excuse the pun, but the four-oven electric AGA and kitchen stocked with utensils and equipment make light work of feeding everyone.

There's space for everyone at the enormous dining table in the extension off the kitchen. Triple aspect windows and an oak-framed apex ceiling make it feel light and welcoming even on a winter's day.

Keeping the kitchen streamlined, a separate room off the kitchen houses an American style fridge/freezer and food storage and prep area, perfect for caterers or private chefs (the owner can supply a wide range of recommended contacts)

Every big house needs a downstairs cloakroom with a WC and a handbasin.

Bedroom suite with twin single beds that can be joined into a super-kingsize (6ft-wide) bed if preferred, and also a separate single bed. This room has an ensuite with a shower, WC and a handbasin.

Games room with a pool table, disco ball and bar, can also be used for yoga and other group activities. The owner can supply contacts for yoga classes, flower crown workshops, cocktail masterclasses and other activities.

Please note there are steps between some of the rooms including on the ground floor.

Upstairs:

Families with children or groups of friends will appreciate the space in the master bedroom suite which has a super-kingsize bed (zip-link) in the main room plus a single sofa bed, leading to a smaller room with bunk beds (suitable for 6+ years only), and an ensuite with a shower, a WC, and twin handbasins.

A second suite, this one with a kingsize bed and an ensuite with a freestanding bath, WC and a handbasin, is ideal for couples.

Let the owner know whether you want two single beds or a super-kingsize bed in another one of the upstairs bedrooms. The flexible layout is set up to suit your requirements.

Two comfortable single beds await tired guests in the twin bedroom, which has gorgeous garden views.

Sleep soundly in the last upstairs bedroom, which is comfortably furnished with a kingsize bed.

Family bathroom with a freestanding roll-top bath, separate shower, WC and a handbasin.

Outside: The property enjoys extensive private gardens. There are two patio areas, one with comfortable sofas, an outdoor hot tub and sauna (cold plunge is available April-September), and a charcoal barbecue. The property has off-street parking for at least 10 cars. Children must be supervised at all time around the hot tub, sauna, garden and grounds due to drops in the garden and grounds and the hot tub being unfenced.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen, bath towels, and an initial supply of fuel for the log burner are all provided. Smoking is not permitted. Electric car charging is not permitted. Use of the sauna and cold plunge is permitted for over 16s only.
