Guests say

Kingswood lodges in Doncaster offer a peaceful and relaxing retreat, with many guests praising the cleanliness, spaciousness, and well-equipped kitchens. The hot tub is a highlight for most visitors, and the lodges are considered good value for money. While some mention road noise and minor maintenance issues, the overall experience is positive, with friendly staff and thoughtful touches enhancing stays. The location is convenient for golfers and those seeking a quiet break, though signage and some facilities could be improved. Most guests would recommend and return, appreciating the tranquil setting and comfortable accommodation.

Cleanliness is frequently praised, with many reviews describing the lodges as immaculately clean, spotless, and well-maintained. A few minor issues such as tired carpets or sticky tables are mentioned, but these are exceptions rather than the rule.

The location is appreciated for its peacefulness and proximity to local amenities and golf, but some guests note road noise and difficulty finding the lodges due to limited signage. The setting among trees and near a canal is generally well-liked.

Guests find the lodges comfortable, with many highlighting the beds and spacious interiors. Some mention issues with mattresses and noise from the road, but overall comfort levels are high, especially for families and those seeking relaxation.

Facilities such as the hot tub, kitchen equipment, and free golf are well received. However, several reviews mention maintenance issues (e.g., broken blinds, missing fridge shelves, minor repairs needed) and some advertised amenities not being available, which affects the overall score.

Some guests received thoughtful touches such as a welcome bottle of wine or quick responses to issues, but these are not guaranteed for all stays. Suggestions for improvement include providing more essentials like hand soap and bath mats.

We stayed in Lodge 1 which was the furthest Lodge from the carpark. The Lodge itself was lovely and clean, a few marks on the carpet but to be expected with it been a lodge for children. It was great having the plug covers and cupboard catches on, it meant my granddaughter could explore everywhere and explore she did!The kitchen was fully equipped with all you needed to make a meal but was just missing a bread knife! The fridge had all the shelves and the door ones to put milk in too (some other reviews say they are missing)The bedrooms are a decent size for sleeping, the cot only fits in the double bedroom and when you have the heating on that bedroom becomes a oven, the radiator in that room needs a controller to turn down, we had to settle with keeping the heating off to keep the bedroom cool for the baby. Decent size bathrooms, one onsuite and another with a bath was great. The hot tub wasn't very hot and it didn't have a temperature screen on it, we should have let reception know but we didn't. it didn't spoil our stay though. The beds were horrible, you sat down and touched the base, if this was rectified I'm sure I'd come again! The noise from the traffic is really loud as it's just behind the lodge, it's a 60mph road and cars are constant. Earplugs are a must! There's no WiFi but we took our firestick and used mobile data and was able to stream fine with the phone sat in the window. They do have freeview on the tv and had a dvd player with some dvds in a drawer. It's clear to see that kingswood golf lodges are having some work done and that can only be a good thing, new fences and privacy screens on the balconies around the hot tub are great and lovely views of the golf course. In summer it will be very nice to sit out and enjoy the sun. For the price I paid I would come back again if the mattresses were updated. (Oh the blinds in the bedroom are fabulous, no light streaming in at all!)

This place is a building site, facilities not as advertised, no bar, restaurant or crazy golf. Dirt track to lodge. Constant Lorries and works outside lodge. Workman on veranda while in hot tub. No gas for 24 hours while temperature dropped to minus 2. How this place is marketed as a luxury relaxing break is beyond me.

The price of our stay over Christmas was very reasonable and we enjoyed our stay. Hot tub was lovely. Fridge and freezer need replacing as fixtures are missing and broken meaning not all can be used. Single mattresses need replacing. Lodge was warm and we had everything we needed. Bottle of wine on arrival was very welcome.
