This is probably our 7th stay at Raywell which tells you everything you need to know about how great this property is. The location is secluded but close enough to all the amenities you could need. Supermarkets and restaurants are just a short drive away. Nearby Beverley is a lovely little town to have a wander around. I highly recommend a visit to Beverley Minster! As for the lodge itself, they are very well presented and immaculate. We stayed in the Fernwood Spa with Pet Garden which is a 3 bedroom lodge. 2 large double bedrooms (1 with en-suite) and 1 good sized twin bedroom (with full sized divan single beds). The beds are extremely comfortable with thick, medium firmness mattresses. The bedrooms have lots of wardrobe and drawer space. The main bathroom is a good size with 3 piece bathroom suite and a shower over the bath. Plenty of towels and bath mats are provided. The living area is open plan with a decent sized, well equipped corner kitchen with fridge freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, coffee machine and Ninja air fryer. The lounge area features a large 3 seater sofa, 2 seater sofa and armchair, coffee table and very large smart HD TV with all the major streaming services available. The dining area features a multi purpose dining table that converts in to a pool table and ping pong table which is great entertainment for those rainy days. There is also a retro games machine with hundreds of games to play. Great for kids ages 5-99! 😆 Outside the lodge is a huge enclosed, pet safe, private garden area featuring a covered seating area with modern garden furniture, a huge well maintained (daily) hot tub, a big day bed (perfect for catching some rays), a picnic table, a grill area for a BBQ, and a little doggy bin at the far end of the garden to easily dispose of any doggy deposits! The garden looks out on to a lovely bit of woodland. We saw rabbits, foxes, birds (including birds of prey like owls and hawks). To the front of the lodge there is ample parking space, enough to fit 2 large cars.We were situated in Site C which is slightly separate from Sites A&B but is easily accessed either by driving a couple of minutes round to the main entrance or via a lovely little woodland walk. The Raywell tearoom and bistro is particularly worth a visit. They have a great selection of meals and cakes where you can sit in or out, or have them delivered on an evening. Furry friends are welcome at the tearoom in the covered, outside seating area. There is also a large, landscaped pond with plenty wildlife to see.All in all, Raywell is a great place to come for a relaxing stay whilst not sacrificing any modern comforts. My only piece of constructive criticism would be for the dining table seating in some of the lodges. Some (not all) have benches rather than chairs which in all honesty, are pretty uncomfortable and a little bit hazardous if you sit on the end of the bench as if no one is at the other end, it becomes unbalanced and the opposite end lifts up and you potentially end up on the floor. Unfortunately we found this out the hard way and I would exert a little caution with young children and the infirm. So if anyone from Raywell reads this, please consider switching these out for comfortable, individual chairs (for comfort and safety reasons).Nevertheless, for me personally, this does not put me off staying at Raywell at all. In fact the very same day I came home, I booked another stay for my family and also a stay for my mum and dad who visited us during our stay and loved it!There really is something for everyone at Raywell! Including our furry friends! 🐾
