About this property

Hornsea 2.4 miles. Located at the heart of Atwick, a quaint village that rests near the coast in the East Riding of Yorkshire, lies the charming, detached, four-bedroom holiday home of Cherry Tree Cottage. Boasting off-road parking, an enclosed garden, a good proximity to shops, pubs, and a beach, this delightful property welcomes a large family or group of sharing friends, along with their two well-behaved dogs, for a relaxing, fuss-free escape just south of the magnificent North York Moors National Park. Inside, you will find a collection of spacious, bright, well-appointed living spaces, including a fully-equipped kitchen, housing every appliance the chosen chefs will need to prepare a delicious, home-cooked meal. Savour your feasts around the sizeable dining table, before you head to the sitting room to enjoy a film on the Smart TV as the space is kept warm and toasty by a woodburning stove tucked into a rustic, brick-built fireplace. When day rolls into night, head outside to indulge with a dip in the outdoor hot tub, and gaze up as the starry night begins to appear overhead. When sleep calls, head upstairs to retire for a well-earned rest in one of the four bedrooms, including an opulent super-king-size with a wall-mounted TV and an accompanying en-suite shower. If you can tear yourself from your lovely new base, head out to explore what your local area has to offer. A short car trip south will bring you into Hornsea, where you can stock up on supplies and essentials at one of the several convenience stores located in town, whilst The Victoria Pub, Restaurant & Guest House and the Rose & Crown serve up traditional pub grub for when you and your loved ones need to fuel up ahead of a big day out. You'll find plenty to do in Hornsea, such as enjoying a peaceful stroll through Hall Garth Park, brushing up on local history at Hornsea Museum, or even just soaking in sea views from the tranquil stretch of Hornsea Beach. During your stay in the region, be sure to explore the Mallyan Spout Waterfall, Grinkle Park, and The Wainstones along with the countless other landmarks and locations scattered throughout the North York Moors National Park. Make memories to last a lifetime by booking a stay at Cherry Tree Cottage.

The pretty seaside town of Hornsea lies on the East Coast, 15 miles south of Bridlington. This old Victorian resort has long, wide, safe sandy beaches and an attractive promenade with well-kept gardens, ideal for families. The bustling town centre has an old-fashioned feel with a good variety of small shops, pubs and cafes, whilst nearby Hornsea Mere is the largest natural lake in Yorkshire and offers sailing, fishing and boat trips. Hornsea Freeport is popular for shopping, whilst Bempton Cliffs rspb reserve can be reached in just over half an hour's drive, offering one of the largest mainland puffin populations in Britain. Hornsea is near to Wassand Hall and walled gardens and provides a good base for touring the Yorkshire Wolds, the North York Moors and the East Riding coastal resorts. The historic city of York, Beverley with it's famous gothic minster and The Deep at Hull are within an easy drive.

Beautiful location, great little pub across the way and only a few minutes drive to Tesco to pick up the essentials. We had a nice little walk to the cliffs, despite the weather! Beds were very comfortable and lots of blankets and pillows for everyone for a comfortable stay. Well equipped kitchen (aside from the fridge) and garden was secure for our Labrador. Hot tub was a great touch. Only 2 small niggles really that could be easily rectified for future stays - 1) I had requested to Sykes that there be no feathers in the property as I have a severe allergy but the cushions downstairs were feather (easily rectified as my son doesn’t share my allergy so we hid them under his bed but please take allergies seriously in future as if we hadn’t found them I could have ended up in A&E with severe breathing issues), 2) the fridge is far too small for a property advertised for 8 people. I would definitely recommend Cherry Tree cottage for anyone wanted a bit of an escape

Hot tub was bonus. Short walk across road for local pub which did lovely meals. Quiet scenic village with nice walks

(I took certain things with us not expecting them to be provided). It was clean, comfortable, and spacious; it didn’t feel crowded with 7 of us there. I would highly recommend this property, and would like to return. A bigger fridge for the Prosecco would be nice! :)
