Church View is a beautifully presented, exceptionally well-equipped cottage in a peaceful village setting, ideal for families and dog owners. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, thoughtful touches, and dog-friendly amenities, including toys and an enclosed garden. The cottage offers a true home-from-home experience, with comfortable beds and a well-stocked kitchen. While the village itself is quiet with limited amenities, there is a popular Italian restaurant nearby and easy access to local towns and attractions. Minor suggestions include updating pillows and providing more local information, but overall, guests thoroughly enjoy their stays and look forward to returning.
Cleanliness is frequently highlighted as excellent, with multiple guests describing the cottage as spotless, tidy, and well cared for. Only one or two minor mentions of towels needing updating, but overall, guests are very satisfied.
The location is praised for its tranquillity, dog walks, and proximity to attractions like York and Howden. The village is quiet with limited amenities, but this is seen as a positive by those seeking peace. Some guests note the need to drive for shops, but this does not detract from the overall appeal.
Guests find the cottage very comfortable, with special mention of comfy beds, spacious rooms, and a relaxing atmosphere. A few minor comments about pillows needing replacement and the lounge being cooler in winter, but these are outweighed by positive feedback.
Facilities are a standout feature, with guests repeatedly noting the exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, games, TVs, and dog-friendly provisions. Some minor suggestions for maintenance (e.g., updating pillows, fixing blinds), but overall, facilities exceed expectations.
The owners' thoughtfulness is highly praised, with guests appreciating extras such as dog toys, treats, and occasionally a bottle of prosecco. Please note, while some guests mention gifts, these are not guaranteed for every stay.

A lovely place with absolutely everything that you could need! So well stocked and the kids were pleased with individual spaces to watch tv or play games. My son was particularly impressed with the x box and getting up early to play it! All the beds were comfy and we all slept so well. Absolutely no outside noise at all. Such a well thought out place, the owners must be proud of their achievements with this one! A lovely touch with the bottle of prosecco too!

We wanted a comfortable dog friendly cottage in a quiet location but with easy access to visit surrounding areas. Church view was perfect. The cottage is very spacious and has absolutely everything you would need a proper home from home. It was clean and comfortable. The village is quiet as it is a dead end so no passing traffic which was ideal for us with a dog. Lots of different walks were easily accessed from the village and enjoyed good views along the river. The village pub is an Italian restaurant with a lovely dog friendly beer garden. Good quality food. Although no village shop the pub stocks some essential items for sale. The town of Howden is less than 10 mins drive away which has plenty of shops for stocking up. We needed to contact the owners on the first day to clarify something and they responded quickly. We had a perfect week and would not hesitate to book again.

Excellent Thought of every little comfort that anyone would need to make their visit special. Dogs loved the garden and playing with all the toys that were left for them.
