Guests say

Sea View House in Hornsea is highly praised for its stunning sea views, comfortable furnishings, and prime location. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, proximity to local amenities, and the added bonus of a cosy back garden. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment, with many guests eager to return.

Guests consistently describe the property as clean and well-maintained, with several reviews highlighting its spotless condition. The high level of cleanliness contributes significantly to the comfort and appeal of the property.

The location receives exceptional praise for its direct sea views and proximity to the beach, local cafes, and shops. The convenience of having attractions within walking distance is frequently mentioned, making the location ideal for a holiday stay.

The property is repeatedly noted for its comfortable beds and homely feel. Guests mention the ease of adjusting the central heating and the relaxing atmosphere, although a few suggest that additional keys and a larger bed in the back bedroom would enhance comfort.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable living spaces. However, some guests note the absence of a dishwasher and mention minor maintenance issues like a leaky shower screen, which slightly detract from the overall experience.

While guests express gratitude for the thoughtfulness of the owners, including the provision of wine by a neighbour and the presence of milk and chocolates upon arrival, there is not enough consistent mention of such gestures to accurately score this category. It should be noted that while these gestures are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for all stays.

About this property

Located right on the beachfront is this attractive mid-terrace property, on the outskirts of the popular coastal town of Hornsea. Perfectly placed for a traditional seaside family holiday, the cottage is bright and cheerful, with a nautical theme running through it. Tastefully renovated to a high standard, there is a spacious sitting room, with comfortable leather sofas and a cosy electric woodburner-effect fire. An archway leads into the dining room, which has patio doors opening onto the small rear enclosed yard, while the galley-style, modern, well-equipped kitchen, has a superb gas range cooker for ease in preparing tasty family meals. Upstairs, there are two roomy double bedrooms, one with stunning views over the sea, and there's a cosy single room available.

With the benefit of off road parking for one car, guests can safely leave their car behind and explore the town on foot. A hop and a skip brings you onto the long, sandy beach, perfect for children building sandcastles and for long walks along the shoreline. It's a pleasant saunter along the promenade to the town centre, with a good variety of pubs, shops, tea rooms and restaurants. There are pretty ornamental gardens and galleries, including one by Tracey Savage, with lots of fascinating eccentric sea pictures. Nearby Hornsea Mere, the largest natural lake in Yorkshire, offers fishing, sailing and wonderful birdwatching opportunities, as does Bempton RSPB Reserve and Flamborough Headland.

With the rolling hills of the Wolds to discover, with its pretty market towns of Beverley, Driffield and Pocklington, this warm and welcoming property is an ideal venue for a varied family holiday.

Hornsea is a seaside resort, which lies on the east coast, 15 miles south of Bridlington. This town boasts wide, safe sandy beaches, a promenade with well-kept gardens and a number of shops, pubs and cafes. Close by is Hornsea Mere, the largest natural lake in Yorkshire offering sailing, fishing and boat trips.

Could not be closer to the seafront, where enjoyable walks can be taken. Only slight problem as owner was good enough to explain was the parking as you have to go in at an angle. In order not to obstruct the pavement. On the whole an enjoyable few days.
