The Whyte Retreat is a lovely, demi-detached home perched in the idyllic seaside town of Hornsea, East Riding of Yorkshire. Enjoying a fabulous setting just moment’s away from Hornsea Mere, with its excellent watersport opportunities and a good selection of beautiful beaches, The Whyte Retreat provides contemporary accommodation for five guests. Park-up in one of two off-road parking spaces, before stepping into your new holiday home. Be welcomed into the contemporary sitting room, providing a wonderful sanctuary for you and your loved ones to return to after a day of adventure, with its plush seating and flat screen TV, perfect for movie nights. Make your way through to the light and airy kitchen/diner, featuring a handy dishwasher, where you can cook-up tasty dishes, ready to serve up at the dining table as you recount the days adventures. On warmer days, why not enjoy your meal alfresco out in the rear garden, with a covered area in case of rainy spells! Completing the ground floor is the garage, where you will find a tumble dryer and washing machine for your convenience. Head up to the first floor, where you can indulge in a soak in the bath or freshen up under the overhead shower, before choosing from one of three beautifully presented bedrooms to catch your rest in, two king size and a single, all of which have plenty of storage for your belongings. Explore the local town, where you can treat your loved ones to a well-deserved meal at Maa Indian Restaurant, Med-Mex Restaurant and Bar, fresh fish and chips from Sullivans or stock up on essentials at the convenience store. The town has plenty to offer with the Hornsea Museum providing an insight into the town’s history, the glorious sands of Hornsea Beach, Hall Garth Park, the excellent Hornsea Golf Club, and the fun filled Bugtopia Hornsea Zoo for a memorable day with the family. Just paces away from your holiday home you will find Hornsea Mere, well-known for being the largest natural lake in Yorkshire, here you can try your hand at sailing, fishing or embark on a boat trip as you sit back and soak up the sights. If you can tear yourself away, make the drive over to Bridlington, where you can enjoy the delights of The Bayle Museum, Bridlington South Beach, East Riding Leisure, Bridlington Animal Park, and the John Bull World of Rock. Just outside of town is Sewerby, home to the esteemed Sewerby Hall & Gardens, featuring a zoo and woodland walks, Danas Dyke Nature Reserve, and the Bridlington Links Golf Course. The pretty seaside town of Hornsea lies on the East Coast, 15 miles south of Bridlington. This old Victorian resort has long, wide, safe sandy beaches and an attractive promenade with well-kept gardens, ideal for families. The bustling town centre has an old-fashioned feel with a good variety of small shops, pubs and cafes, whilst nearby Hornsea Mere is the largest natural lake in Yorkshire and offers sailing, fishing and boat trips. Hornsea Freeport is popular for shopping, whilst Bempton Cliffs rspb reserve can be reached in just over half an hour's drive, offering one of the largest mainland puffin populations in Britain. Hornsea is near to Wassand Hall and walled gardens and provides a good base for touring the Yorkshire Wolds, the North York Moors and the East Riding coastal resorts. The historic city of York, Beverley with it's famous gothic minster and The Deep at Hull are within an easy drive.

It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Off road parking for 2 cars very helpful. Lots of useful tourist information in the house. The owners were easily contactable and very friendly. We found Hornsea a good base to see Hull, Beverley and the East coast. Great fish and chips close by!

It was absolutely spotless and had everything we could possibly need. The garden was lovely and safe and it was great to spend each sunny evening at the lovely outdoor seating area. The owners were so friendly and could recommend places to eat and visit etc, when we asked. The neighbours were also friendly. Itâs a short walk to local shops and then a very short drive to a large supermarket. Then in the opposite direction, a short stroll takes you to Hornsea Freeport. Hornsea is a beautiful small town with lots of lovely shops and the sea front was pretty and not overcrowded. We spent many days on the very clean beach as we had 14 days of sunshine. We also visited Flamborough North Landing, Hornsea Mere, Bridlington and Withernsea. We thoroughly recommend staying at Whyte Retreat for your next break! Youâll want for nothing and stay in luxury in a gorgeous area of the country. After two glorious weeks, we honestly didnât want to return home.

The property was very well maintained, clean and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the outside space where we could sit and relax on an evening. Plenty to do in the area, being only a short distance to Hornsea Freeport, The Mere, town centre and seafront. All within reasonable walking distance too. The owners obviously take pride in the property and are easily contactable if needed. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay again if visiting the area.
