About this property

Raven Lodge offers a calm, roomy retreat just outside Brigg, giving families or groups of friends a well-placed base for unwinding and getting to know this characterful stretch of Lincolnshire. Spread across two floors, the property is arranged with practicality at its core, offering five bedrooms, two doubles, two twins and a single, so there’s plenty of space for mixed groups. A smart shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC keeps things simple and straightforward. The kitchen sits at the heart of the home, equipped with everything you need for easy mealtimes, including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster and an air fryer for quick bites.

Meals come together comfortably in the living/dining room, where you can gather around the table, settle in front of the TV or simply enjoy the slower pace that holidays ought to have. With WiFi and central heating, the essentials are well covered whatever the season. Outside, you’ll find off-road parking and straightforward access to local amenities. Brigg itself is easily reached and worth the short trip for its traditional market-town feel, independent shops and riverside walks. It’s the kind of place where you can pick up everyday bits without any hassle, then stop off for a proper meal or a quiet drink somewhere welcoming.

If you’re in the mood to explore further, Scunthorpe offers museums, galleries and green spaces that make for an easy afternoon out. Lincoln is also within comfortable reach and rewards the journey with its striking cathedral, historic castle and lively streets full of charm and character. Head into the wider countryside and you’ll find long, open stretches perfect for relaxed drives, gentle rambles and taking in the scenery at your own pace. Whether you’re planning a family break or a catch-up with friends, Raven Lodge provides a solid, comfortable base, practical, laid-back and well-connected to everything that makes Lincolnshire appealing.

The historic market town of Brigg is a small market town in North Lincolnshire and is built on the crossing of the River Ancholme, and was granted a charter in 1235. The town hosts two regular markets: a farmers and a street market. A significant number of buildings in the town centre date back to the late 1700s or early 1800s and are listed. The old town has been designated as a Conservation Area. The gently rolling landscape and picturesque villages prove a magnet for cyclists, walkers, and wildlife lovers, with the Viking Way offering many quiet trails and country lanes to explore. Enjoy a round of golf at one of the local courses at Elsham, Forest Pines, or Normanby Park, or the tree-lined, 18-hole golf course at Market Rasen, visit the National Hunt racecourse, or spend a day on one of the Lincolnshire Coast's unspoilt sandy beaches. Visit Lincoln, with its 11th-century castle, beautiful cathedral, and vast array of shops. For antique lovers, Europe's largest antiques centre at Hemswell and the market town of Horncastle are within easy reach. Journeying north, visit Hull, the city of culture in 2017, Beverley, a lovely market town full of history with a beautiful minster church, and York with a wealth of places to visit. For John Wesley fans, his birthplace of Epworth is a short distance away.
