Enjoy big-group getaways at this elegant Edwardian home. Located at the heart of one of the Dales'' most delightful villages, it features full-of-character interiors with a choice of spaces where eight can kick back in comfort. An enclosed garden allows for al fresco dining, and for more fresh air fun the River Wharfe and Dales Way are on the doorstep. Lying on a bend of the River Wharfe surrounded by a spectacular circle of fells, Burnsall is a beautiful location for a break with friends or family - and this handsome holiday home will add a whole new level of luxury to your time here. Within 50 metres of the riverbank, it offers a mix of historic charm with high-end must-haves, its three floors offering plenty of space for a party to spread out in comfort.
Step inside and you''ll find a sitting room where high ceilings, wood-panelled walls and a wood burner set the scene for relaxation. Adjacent, the stunning kitchen centres around an oil-fired Aga and is sure to be a hive of activity; a rustic dining suite complements the country styling. Off the kitchen is a sunroom: a bright space with seats for eight at a large dining table, large glass doors opening onto the garden, and leather sofas - take a seat and watch as the dogs enjoy a sniff outside. For some real downtime, retreat to the nearby snug where inviting seating and a reading light provide a more peaceful haven. When it''s time to retire, the first floor has two super-king-size bedrooms - one of them with its own en-suite - and one king-size room, plus a stylish family bathroom. On the second floor, the master bedroom is serene, with a super-king-size bed, a large leather chair and a private WC. Outside, a prettily planted courtyard-style garden is to the rear of the property. South-facing, it has a stone-flagged patio and seating area - a perfect spot for food and refreshments.
Stroll around the village and you''ll find a fine selection of friendly inns and eateries, but if you want to really stretch your legs, Burnsall is on both the 85-mile Dales Way and the Way of the Roses cycle route. Just 6 miles downstream from the village are the historic ruins of Bolton Abbey, while Grassington is less than 4 miles to the north-west; visit the National Park Visitor Centre here to plan more adventures. Vibrant Skipton (10.5 miles) is home to one of the most complete and best-preserved medieval castles in England.
