Set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, amidst the magnificent scenery of Upper Littondale, this semi-detached, character cottage dates back to 1703 and enjoys a peaceful location set on a ¼-mile private lane. The cottage is surrounded by wonderful walking country, with an abundance of routes from the doorstep. There is a wealth of traditional features, such as exposed beams and wooden floors, which together with everyday conveniences makes for a wonderful holiday home. Either explore the immediate local area or lie back and relax in front of one of the two wood burners, with the extensive collection of books available. The cottage is situated just 10 miles from the pretty market town of Settle. This traditional Yorkshire town has a unique market square with numerous cafes, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. There is a market every Tuesday and the main supermarket is excellent for stocking up on your essentials. Walks from here vary from relaxing strolls along the River Aire to more challenging climbs to the top of Sugar Loaf Hill, or maybe you’d like to explore Victoria Cave where the bones of mammoths and hippos have been discovered? 11 miles to the south is Grassington, famous for its Dickensian Festival at Christmas, and its Summer Arts Festival, supported by famous musicians, actors and poets during the summer months. Alternatively, a little further afield lies the bustling market town of Skipton, 19 miles away, with its wide, sweeping high street and Norman castle, together with a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, which make it a lovely place to visit.
