    "Lovely cottage, beautiful location"
    Karen – 8 Oct 2018
"We loved the beautiful setting of Nether Hesleden. We were welcomed by a basket of scones and other goodies, the lounge was so comfortable, for the two couples that we were, good fire in the grate, lovely in the evenings. We only had problems with the beds, the mattresses were poor, and the lighting in the master bedroom over the sink was non existent.Otherwise the area was interesting, good walking from the door, the pub in Litton wonderful,We visited Malham, Settle, Grassington, fine walks, gorgeous scenery, all in all a wonderful vacation. A car is necessary and driving at least for foreigners, challenging, but worth the effort."

"Cottage was absolutely perfect for our short break. We would definitely come again for longer!"

"Beautiful, stunning house in a great location - you know you are in the back of beyond when you book it!! Full of character and set in a fabulous position. Lots of lovely walks straight from your door step. Queens Arms a nice stroll away and the food was good too. Would definitely stay here again - top quality property."

"Loved staying here! It is quite far out to the local shops however you can grab bits as you drive in from other local villages, we went to the spar/petrol station and stocked up. Also took some cool bags! There was a welcome basket tea/coffee/sugar/milk but we went through this pretty quickly due to there been six of us. Cottage is gorgeous! Have to agree with a different review that bits need tweaking, floorboards and door handles falling off. Overall though such a lovely place to stay and I’d go back. So peaceful and miss the birds and sheep! Some wonderful walks near by and explored lots of the dales. Enjoyed driving around the mountains and taking in the scenery. Really didn’t want to leave. Also our doggies loved it here!"

"The cottage is in a glorious, relaxing setting. Great views, spacious rooms. A very enjoyable stay and a great base to explore the local dales. The garden was secure and great to sit in with our dogs. The cottage has the potential to be the most amazing place but we felt it was let down by the fit and finish of the property. Door handles fell of at will, skirting boards were ill fitting and not well secured. The laminate flooring in the ensuite toilet had huge gaps between the boards. The kitchen could have done with a thorough clean and wasn't as well equipped as it might have been for a cottage that sleeps 6. We thought the lighting could have been better as the ceiling lights in many rooms had been removed and replaced with lamps. Decoration wasn't the best. This all sounds a little negative, but with a little more care and attention to detail, the cottage would be amazing"

"Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. We found it clean and well prepared and and nice goodies as a welcome, especially the wine !Kitchen was well equipped but it was a bit of a nuisance that the dishwasher was in the utility room. Lounge was very comfy and good to have a good size TV screen. Being of a certain age and a little stiff in the joints would have really appreciated a toilet downstairs. Also not sure about the bath in the bedroom though it was a bit of a novelty at first. Although location was stunning the narrow roads did become a bit trying after 4 days but we wanted remote so must not complain too much. Overall was a very nice place and we would consider returning."

"Stunning location & very tranquil. Weather was on our side and we had a relaxing few days in a lovely cottage. The only minor niggles were, the bed in the 2nd double was totally uncomfortable and you could feel every spring with every turn. Our bed, on the other hand, in the 1st double was so comfy it was unreal! The big disappointment was the lack of any kind of decent welcome pack. A bottle of wine and a pint of milk doesn't really send out a 'Welcome' message when people have travelled a long way - over 6 hours! We stay at a lot of cottages around the UK and always receive a welcome pack ranging from adequate to amazing - this one was poor at best. Yes there were some bits in the cupboards but they appeared to be what has been left by previous holiday makers. Maybe think about a small loaf, some ham, cheese or jam, milk, coffee & t-bags and a pack of biscuits. It doesn't cost a lot but goes a long way when you've travelled so far and it might be tto late to pick anything up - especially when the location is so rural.Overall, the cottage was lovely and had a real charm but the 2 things mentioned above would most certainly add a little extra to the experience!"

"Lovely cottage and this is our second stay so it must be good. One point which needs action is the firewood. There are firelighters but no kindling, but the wood supplied has such a high moisture content that it will not burn properly on both visits. I purchased some dry wood and kindling from a local supplier (Anchor Logs at Gargrave) and the Stoves worked beautifully. The details say wood is supplied for the first night’s fires but with no kindling and ‘wet wood’ it was not possible to light them. It was very cold during our stay so I believe this is a very important point."

"Lovely cottage, very clean and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay a pleasant one. It snowed whilst we were there and the views from the cottage onto the snow covered hills was just lovely. You are 20 minutes from a main road and the nearest shop but we knew this before we booked it. Lovely relaxing break and we would definitely return."
