Waltergarth is a delightful detached bungalow resting in the village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, within the Yorkshire Dales National Park in North Yorkshire. Sleeping six guests across three bedrooms, welcoming two dogs and offering generous outdoor space, this single-storey retreat is well suited to families and friends looking to explore one of England's most celebrated walking regions. Pull onto the private driveway and take a moment to appreciate the mature surroundings before stepping inside. The spacious layout creates a homely base for your stay, with thoughtfully arranged living areas designed for spending quality time together after days of adventure in the Dales. At the heart of the home is the well-equipped kitchen, where the designated chef can prepare everything from a leisurely breakfast to a hearty evening meal using the oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Gather around the dining table to savour your meals, share stories from the day's discoveries and plan tomorrow's route through the surrounding countryside. As evening settles, retire to the sitting room and light the multi-fuel stove, creating a warm focal point while you stretch out with a favourite drink, catch up on conversation or enjoy a relaxing night indoors. An additional seating area off the hall offers another pleasant place to sit with a morning coffee while looking out towards the garden. When sleep calls, three well-presented bedrooms await. Two double rooms each benefit from their own en-suite shower room, offering added privacy for couples, while the twin room is ideal for children or friends sharing. A contemporary shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC serves the remainder of the accommodation, helping everyone prepare comfortably for the day ahead. Outside, the rear garden provides a lovely extension of the living space, with a lawn and patio that invite alfresco drinks on sunny afternoons or a moment of relaxation after tackling the nearby walking routes. Off-road parking for three cars makes exploring the local area simple and convenient.
The nearest pub is just a short stroll away, while Horton-in-Ribblesdale railway station is also within easy walking distance, offering convenient access to the scenic Settle to Carlisle line and making it easy to explore the wider area without the car. The nearest shop can be reached with a scenic drive through the surrounding countryside. The Yorkshire Dales National Park stretches out around Horton-in-Ribblesdale and offers endless opportunities for outdoor pursuits. Head to Ribblehead Viaduct, where dramatic views, the famous arches and passing trains on the Settle to Carlisle line combine to create one of the region's most photographed landmarks. Discover Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, where woodland paths, cascading waterfalls and impressive scenery reward walkers at every turn. Visit Malham Cove to admire its striking limestone amphitheatre, explore the distinctive limestone pavement and take in far-reaching views across the surrounding landscape. The charming market town of Settle makes a rewarding day out, with independent shops, traditional cafés and access to the historic Settle to Carlisle Railway. Ingleton offers local eateries, access to walking routes and the renowned waterfalls trail, while nearby Clapham provides attractive village scenery, access to Ingleborough Cave and excellent routes into the Yorkshire Dales countryside.
