Guests say

Journeyman Loft is a well-equipped and spotlessly clean cottage in the heart of Skipton, ideal for exploring the town and surrounding countryside. Guests praise its excellent location, comfortable beds, and thoughtful amenities. The property is particularly convenient for those using public transport, with shops and attractions nearby. While access via a steep, narrow lane and steps may challenge those with mobility issues, and occasional noise from a nearby nightclub is noted, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests keen to return.

Multiple reviews highlight the property as spotlessly clean and well-maintained, with only rare mentions of a musty smell. Cleanliness is consistently praised by guests.

The central location is a major highlight, with guests appreciating proximity to Skipton's town centre, public transport, and local attractions. Some mention noise from a nearby nightclub, but most find the location excellent.

Guests frequently mention comfortable and spacious beds, a cosy atmosphere, and a well-equipped kitchen. A few note the bed was uncomfortable or the property was a little tired, but overall comfort is rated highly.

The cottage is praised for being very well equipped, with modern appliances, a large shower, and thoughtful extras. Some minor maintenance issues are mentioned, such as a loose wardrobe door or dim bathroom lighting, but these do not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Several guests mention thoughtful touches such as milk, cookies, and dog bowls, as well as friendly and accommodating hosts. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Access was fine for us but consideration needed for those with limited mobility. Steep access at the entrance. Very comfortable bed and kitchen facilities were plentiful. Skipton Castle and woods well worth a visit and walking along the canal towpath was lovely. Lots of narrow boats and fellow walkers.Grassington and Settle both worth the visit. The Woolly Sheep for Sunday roast is a must and The Curious Fox served beautiful dishes to suit all tastes. Our week was truly memorable, days filled with reasonable weather in March. One or two pointers, wardrobe door in bedroom is very loose and some pans in the kitchen need their handles tightened, would be very sorry if there was an accident.

The hustle and bustle of the market and the shops that sell unique gifts are fantastic.. parking is great right outside your door..the loft is so warm and cosy and the bed were oversized and were so comfy we didn’t want to get up.. even though your in the town it were so quite and peaceful. Fantastic walks to be done bus station right on doorstep so don’t have to use car and go to Leeds and other towns ..we’ve booked again for this year to go back in July and dec this will definitely be a place to keep revisiting. A big thank you to mr and mrs Hunter.

We appreciated the milk and cookies she left for us too. We even met the owner of the cottage and she was delightful. The cottage was comfortable and certainly had everything we could need. The linens and towels were a lovely quality and the bed was very comfortable. The bedroom was a great size for a cottage. The description of being over three floors was accurate and not much of an issue. However, the steep and narrow lane driving up to the cottage was an issue because our rental car (BMW X5) was too wide to navigate the narrow space. We had to park in a public car park for the week. A smaller car would have no problem. There are steep stairs leading up to the cottage and a steep lane way which I found a bit trying because I’m waiting on a knee replacement. Again, this was described accurately prior to us arriving so I’m certainly not complaining but feel anyone with mobility issues should be aware of this. Our stay was overall very pleasant and we enjoyed our visit to Skipton.
