Only eight miles from Skipton, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, the old market town of Barnoldswick is located in the Pennine hills amid gorgeous, gently rolling countryside on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border. A thriving town in the centre of England, affectionately referred to as Barlick, is proud of its manufacturing heritage, which spans from a sizeable textile industry to the production of modern aero engines at the Rolls Royce factory. The town is traversed by Pennine cycle and bridleways, and the magnificent summit section of the Leeds & Liverpool canal meanders through the town and its bustling marina.

Everything was finished to a very high standard. The location was stunning with great walks. The owners were very welcoming and provided a thoughtful welcome pack. The rooms were beautiful and the beds extremely comfortable. As some of our group arrived in the dark the property was not obvious. Perhaps a few solar lights or a sign to mark the entrance would be helpful. Thank you for making our much needed break so relaxing and enjoyable .

My only criticism is the access from the busy main road and the ability to see the access. One of our party arrived in the dark and had to be guided to the entrance by phone torch of another. Not ideal.

We were 4couples stopping at Castleys we all enjoyed en-suites bedrooms it was lovely clean and modern property some lovely sun traps to sit with a drink and take in beautiful countryside views if needed John the owner was handy with advice places to eat or visit we liked the local pub the Punch Bowl meals were lovely and the staff charming such a pleasant place to stay will come back again
