About this property

A stone-built, semi-detached period cottage set in a quiet cul-de-sac in the heart of the pretty village of Appletreewick, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This Appletreewick cottage is a lovely base for friends and families, and sitting in a wonderful elevated position, it boasts views that stretch across the village rooftops towards the glorious surrounding fells. Lovingly refurbished, this Appletreewick cottage features an attractive sitting room with a warm and cosy woodburner leading to an adjoining summer room, which is ideal for relaxing with a book and enjoying the late afternoon sunshine. A spacious, well-equipped kitchen, a dining room, three comfortable bedrooms and a bathroom complete the accommodation. The enclosed garden provides an excellent spot for alfresco dining, whilst just a short stroll away is an award-winning pub serving real ales and fabulous food. Enjoy good walking and cycling trails from the doorstep of this Yorkshire Dales cottage, or explore Bolton Abbey and the infamous Strid, a notorious stretch of deep water where the River Wharfe is forced into a hidden, thundering channel. The elegant market town of Grassington, with its cobbled square littered with local shops, pubs and cafes, is just five miles away, making this Appletreewick cottage an ideal location, to be enjoyed at any time of year.

The delightful Dales village of Appletreewick is set in a picturesque part of Wharfedale, just 9 miles north of the popular market town of Skipton. Its single steep street climbs from Low Hall at one end to High Hall at the other, and the surrounding meadows and pastures merge with wooded hillsides and bracken clad valleys to make wonderful walking countryside. The many scenic walks include the Dales Way following the banks of the River Wharfe, whilst the nearby Parceval Hall Gardens offer woodland walks and quiet gardens with glorious views of Simon Seat. Appletreewick boasts two pubs and an unassuming little church which was converted from three cottages! A sleepy little village with great Dales appeal, Appletreewick makes a perfect base for a memorable holiday.

We have no hesitation in recommending this property. We have booked holidays through Sykes many times and have never been let down.

We enjoyed the wood fire and the beds were comfortable. Wifi very poor, conservatory full of flies and the downstairs (under stairs) toilet is difficult to access.

The kitchen was well equipped although the saucepans were very very heavy to carry once they had water and food in them. The stove and generous use of fuel throughout the stay was wonderful, particularly as we would not have been able to purchase any locally if we had only been provided with an initial basket. The bed was very comfortable. The garden area has been nicely fenced at the back, which gives peace of mind to dog owners ( ours are well behaved and trained labrador and spaniel) but if visitors have small or reactive dogs they need to consider that it is a post and rail fence and there is a lovely young family next door . We loved our stay here at Fellside and would hope to visit again
