About this property

An outstanding stone-built, semi-detached cottage, located on a quiet lane just off the village green in the very heart of the village of Threshfield, just 1 mile from Grassington and 7 miles from Skipton. This superb cottage provides excellent holiday accommodation in the centre of one of the most popular villages in the Yorkshire Dales and was once home to Miss July of Calendar Girls fame. Full of character and charm throughout, with old beams and exposed stone work, a warm and cosy sitting room with a lovely woodburning stove greets guests as they walk through the front door. A splendid farmhouse-style kitchen is a real delight with all those extra touches that will ensure a great stay at this cottage. The spacious master bedroom is a beautiful room, with individual styling and a double bed, making this an ideal romantic retreat. The second twin room and modern shower room are the icing on the cake for this excellent holiday home. The village has much to offer, with lovely walks down to the river and across beautiful countryside to nearby Grassington, where there is an excellent local pub, renowned for its real ales and fine varied menu. A short drive away is Bolton Abbey with its ruins, the Priory and the famous Strid Walk. A little further afield is the elegant town of Ilkley, overlooked by the famous Ilkley Moor and to the west are Kettlewell and Buckden, boasting spectacularly beautiful limestone scenery. With many other beauty spots scattered throughout Wharfedale, this quality cottage provides a great base for exploring the local area and all that the Dales have to offer.

Threshfield is a small village in Upper Wharfedale bordering the nearby villages of Grassington, Linton, Hetton, Cracoe and Rylstone, home of the famous ‘Calendar Girls’. Threshfield is a thriving local community. A few minutes walk away is Grassington, one of the most charming villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where you will find traditional stone cottages, galleries, restaurants and shops, which are clustered around the cobbled market place, plus a monthly farmers' market provides a mouthwatering range of organic and homemade local produce. Visitors can experience the delight of both the Grassington Festival held in June and the Dickensian Festival during December – both well worth a visit. Situated on the River Wharfe, with the extensive Grass Woods to the north of the village, this is a superb walking area. Down dale is Bolton Abbey, the Priory and the famous “Strid Walk”, whilst a little further away is the elegant town of Ilkley, overlooked by the famous Ilkley Moor, plus up dale are Kettlewell and Buckden boasting spectacularly beautiful limestone scenery. With many other beauty spots scattered throughout Wharfedale, Threshfield provides a great base for exploring the local area and all that the Dales have to offer, with Brontë Country and York also being within easy motoring distance.

Local amenities (pub and Spar shop with excellent local butcher's section) are close by. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen and a large master bedroom. Parking is a small (one car sized) plot immediately outside the front door. It was always available during our stay, however there was ample alternate parking nearby. Would highly recommend a stay here.

It is cosy and comfortable, also one of the best equipped cottages we have every stayed in. It is in a great location, wonderful walks right on the doorstep. Plenty of good gastropubs within short walking/driving distance. If you are thinking of staying in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales we highly recommend Pemba Cottage.

Really comfy bed, lovely open fire. Large kitchen. Pub just round the corner and great Spar shop around the other corner! We would definitely recommend this cottage for a stay.
