Located at the end of a long private track on the outskirts of the village of Bolton Abbey, Stank House Farm is a traditional stone farmhouse showcasing charming design features such as flagstone floors and stunning fireplaces. Part of the Bolton Abbey Estate, this hideaway boasts a hot tub, underfloor heating in the bathrooms, and some of the best views across the valley.
Built in 1744, Stank House Farm has been exquisitely renovated throughout an offers guests traditional ambience alongside plenty of modern amenities. The large entrance hall with traditional flag stone floor leads through to the impressive dining room where a large farmhouse dining table sits beneath exposed wooden beams. A grand fireplace with wood burning stove adds extra warmth and ambient light on chillier evenings. The well-equipped kitchen styled with granite work surfaces is located just off the dining room and provides all you need to create every meal from a light breakfast to a full 3-course banquet.
Leading off from the main entrance hall is the elegant, spacious sitting room which enjoys uninterrupted views across the valley. Featuring an impressive fireplace with a wood burning stove and plenty of comfortable seating, this room is an ideal place for the whole group to gather in the evening. French doors lead out onto the terrace and gardens that wrap around the farmhouse. Conveniently located on the ground floor is a large double bedroom with panoramic views towards Bolton Abbey and beyond. An en suite bathroom with a shower over a roll top bath complete this floor.
Upstairs on the first floor there are two further tastefully furnished bedrooms (a super-king and a twin), each with en suite bathrooms.
The outside space around the cottage has been landscaped and designed with the ultimate enjoyment of the breath-taking location and panoramic views in mind. To the rear of the cottage a large landscaped garden features stone-flagged terrace with a seating area in complete seclusion and peace. With unspoilt views of Bolton Abbey and beyond, the garden terrace boasts a hot tub. Please note, the Bolton Abbey Estates team require access the hot tub on a daily basis to carry out essential water testing. The hot tub will be emptied, cleaned and re-filled every Monday and Friday between 9am and 4pm each day. Access to inside the cottage is not required.
Adequate parking for up four cars is available outside the cottage, and there is a small outhouse for drying out clothes or storing wellingtons.
Guests of Stank House Farm are welcome to use the nearby Devonshire Spa during their stay at a cost of £7.50 per person. 45-minute timed slots are available on the hour starting from 7:00am until 6:00pm, and must be booked in advance.
