Situated on the southerly fringes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with walking, cycling and day trips to the city of York, is Skipton House. This old Victorian residence is located in the heart of Skipton, boasting bags of character and period features oozing through the walls inside. Receive a warm welcome on arrival, with quirky, modern furnishings and plenty of space to relax after an adventure on the Dales. The kitchen is positioned to the rear, with a range oven taking centre stage, perfect for cooking up a feast and gathering around the dining room table for a delicious meal.
Just off from here is a useful utility and a cloakroom. Unwind after dinner in the light-filled lounge, with a large bay window framing views of the street. Sink into the sofa in front of the TV or simply admire the character features around you. Head up to the bedrooms for a well-earned rest, with a superb choice of bedroom arrangements for flexibility during your stay. The master room on the top floor even has a TV with a PlayStation for the kids to enjoy, as well as a Velux window and dressing table. There are also two shower rooms on the first level, so there's no need to queue each morning.
Skipton offers plenty of amenities close by, including a couple of supermarkets and many pubs, shops and restaurants. You can visit Skipton Castle, The Craven Museum and even take a trip on the Leeds to Liverpool Canal. Nearby is the village of Malham, home to Malham Cove, Gorsdale Scar and Janet's Foss - all well worth a visit. With the Lake District, West Coast and Forest of Bowland within easy reach choose to stay at this period townhouse in a charming region of England.
Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy reach. Its ancient castle is open to the public, while its market occupies the cobbled setts each side of the high street. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through, with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel.
