The Shippon in Skipton offers a charming farm experience with welcoming hosts, a hot tub, and proximity to local attractions. Guests appreciate the peaceful setting, comfortable accommodation, and the opportunity to engage with farm life. While some find the cottage and its amenities dated, the overall sentiment is positive, with the farm's tranquility and the hosts' hospitality being highlights.

Reviews indicate a generally clean environment, though some guests noted issues such as a dirty cooker extractor and presence of insects in the cutlery drawer. The majority did not raise cleanliness as a concern, suggesting satisfactory standards for most.

The location is highly praised for its idyllic setting on a working farm, with easy access to local towns and attractions. The peacefulness and natural beauty of the Yorkshire Dales are consistently appreciated by guests.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with warm accommodations and good water pressure in showers. However, some noted issues with a noisy mezzanine bedroom and a lack of cleanliness that could affect comfort levels.

The wood-fired hot tub is a highlight, though some guests were dissatisfied with the additional charges for heating and logs. The kitchen and bathrooms are mentioned as needing an upgrade, and there were some concerns about Wi-Fi connectivity and maintenance of the log burner.

The hosts' hospitality is frequently mentioned, with guests feeling welcomed and even given farm tours. Complimentary eggs were provided to some guests, adding a thoughtful touch. However, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for all stays.

We found the cottage easily with postcode although the taxi we had on the Friday night could not find in the dark . This was on a working farm and had all the noises you would expect on the outside but once inside it was silent and cozy . Unique layout with a mezzanine bedroom that still had privacy . Rebecca the owner went above and beyond to get the cottage ready a little earlier than check in time and her communication was excellent. Unfortunately we had to cut our break early due to my mother in law being taken ill and we had to get home . But would definitely return and would also recommend to anyone looking in this area . Also there is a resident cat who gets in the front door as quick as a flash which was great for us cat lovers ( if you dont like cats easy to put outside ) we didnt know name or sex so called it Gizmo

What can we say about the shippon. Absolutely everything is what we had hoped for and more. Joey and Rebecca were excellent hosts. Very friendly and always happy to help with local knowledge and guidance in surrounding areas. We knew we were going onto a working farm however, to be invited to help milk the cows, feed the sheep and calves was an amazing and welcome surprise! Joey was the perfect instructor for the kids in showing them what to do. Cottage itself was very homely and comfortable. Log burner went down a treat. It really was a home from home. For anyone who loves the countryside then this is the perfect home and location. Thank you to Joey, Rebecca and Evie for their top clas hospitality, we will definitely be returning. Calum, Fiona, Lewis & Isla.
