About this property

A beautiful, semi-detached townhouse overlooking the village of Kettlewell and valley beyond, Valley View is a simply delightful base for a family or group of friends looking to explore North Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Dales. Be welcomed by the pretty painted exterior of this wonderful house, taking in the stunning valley backdrop and the quaint houses of the town, and park on-road beside the property to unpack with ease. A light and airy kitchen boasts contemporary amenities, a woodburning stove and a large dining table so guests can both cook and enjoy a hearty meal as a group. The kitchen also sports lovely patio doors, allowing for views of the stream and its wooded banks behind the property, and guests can make the most of this tranquil location by spending an evening on the balcony with a tipple, as the beck rushes by, an idyllic setting for an alfresco breakfast. The sitting room boasts a large sofa for guests to settle into with a cup of tea, accompanied by the homely glow of the woodburning stove. When the evening wears on, head up to the first floor, where there is a king-size room with an en-suite, a twin, both with valley views, a bunk ideal for children, along with a shower room for your refreshment, and on the second floor, mezzanine there is a king-size room with a delightful bathroom ideal for a soak amongst the bubbles. Kettlewell is a beautiful rural village settled in Wharfedale, North Yorkshire, offering a selection of three pubs all serving excellent food, for example the Blue Bell Inn and the King’s Head, a convenience store, two cafes, a summer ice cream parlour, and of course lovely views of the countryside. Some of the most spectacular walks in the Yorkshire Dales can be accessed directly from the doorstep of Valley View such as the popular Dales Way and the spectacular summit of Great Whernside. The village is within easy reach of a host of delightful attractions, including the world-famous rock formations of Malham Cove, the magical Stump Cross Caverns and the awe-inspiring ruins of Bolton Abbey. Kilnsey Park, Skipton Castle and Parcevall Hall Gardens are nearby, and you can learn more about the local history and heritage at the Dales Countryside Museum. As well as access to the Yorkshire Dales, the property is within reach of several lovely villages, including Leyburn and Settle, and both the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Nidderdale AONB. The charming cobbled market town of Grassington, used as the location of Darrowby in the Channel 5 series All Creatures Great and Small, is on your doorstep.

All of this and so much more with a stay at the stylish Valley View.

This lovely town is the ideal starting point from which to explore the gorgeous landscape and charming communities of this spectacular Dale. It is tucked away at the foot of Great Whernside, close to the head of Upper Wharfedale. An indication of the grandeur of its traditional landscape, with dry-stone walls and barns, significant flower-rich hay fields, and valley side woods, is that a large portion of Upper Wharfedale is held by the National Trust. The Dales Way passes close by, making this without a doubt one of the greatest places in the Dales for hiking and mountain riding.

It was clean and warm when we arrived, the whole place is well furnished and so well equipped. There were 4 adults and 4 children, plenty of space for us all. It’s also really close to the village playground, you can see it from the house which was ideal. A really good location too for walks from the doorstep and exploring more of the Dales. I would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to return.

We would definitely recommend and would love to stay here again.

We had a great few days celebrating New Year and all 6 of us (4 adults, 2 older kids) loved the space - comfortable, well equipped and open fires welcome addition for the cold and damp evenings. We would definitely recommend.
