About this property

A superb, semi-detached barn conversion situated on a traditional hill farm in Farndale, two miles from Low Mills. Lovingly renovated with many features such as an arched window in the sitting room, exposed beams, and an open fire, The Arches offers superb accommodation decorated and furnished to an excellent standard. Walkers can step out from the farm into the open countryside and enjoy the many footpaths and trails, and mountain bikers are well catered for with the numerous tracks and bridleways. Kirkbymoorside, Hutton-le-Hole and Helmsley are all also within easy reach. A perfect base for a relaxing holiday. Note: The Arches can be booked with Ref 1392, together they sleep 16.

The stunning valley of Farndale is in the North York Moors National Park and in spring there is a spectacular display of daffodils along the side of the River Dove. The fields are divided by ancient dry stone walls and the narrow lanes wind around the spectacular valley. The lovely old market town of Kirkbymoorside is 10 miles away and has a good selection of shops and restaurants as well as a market every Wednesday, when the stalls are set out on the charming cobbled streets. Pickering is home to the North York Steam Railway and trains run from here to Grosmont along an 18-mile stretch of glorious countryside. Walkers have many trails and footpaths to follow and this is a fabulous area for a holiday at any time of the year.

A truly lovely property, set in beautiful country side, excellent local pub , only one complaint if you have a bad back like myself, take a mattress topper with you as none of the mattresses offer any support, and by the end of my stay I was struggling

The instructions given made the cottage easy to find and we were wowed by the stunning views that met us on arrival - we never tired of these the whole week. The Arches was very well equipped and very comfortable. The nearby Farndale shop was a delight and the local pub was very warm and welcoming. The working farm only added to the peaceful atmosphere of the countryside setting and we would definitely stay at The Arches again.
