Guests say

The Old Cart House is a spacious, comfortable cottage set in a stunning, peaceful location on a working farm, ideal for families and groups. Guests consistently praise the breathtaking views, open-plan living area, and friendly, welcoming owners. The property is well-equipped for large groups and dog-friendly, with plenty of opportunities for walking and exploring the North York Moors. Occasional minor issues are mentioned, such as a small fridge, some kitchen and maintenance updates needed, and limited immediate walking routes, but these do not detract from the overwhelmingly positive experience.

Most guests found the cottage very clean and well-presented, especially considering its rural, working farm setting. A few noted cobwebs or areas needing a little more attention, but overall cleanliness was highly rated.

The location is widely praised for its beauty, tranquillity, and stunning views. Its remote setting is a highlight for those seeking peace and access to nature, with easy drives to local attractions and a friendly village pub nearby.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as spacious, comfortable, and ideal for large groups and families. The open-plan living area, cosy bedrooms, and open fire are frequently mentioned as highlights, with only rare comments about mattress firmness.

The property is generally well-equipped, with ample kitchenware, baby gates, and appliances. Some guests noted minor issues such as a small fridge, blunt knives, or maintenance needs (e.g., lighting, extractor fan), but these were not major drawbacks.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with wine, milk, biscuits, or even sloe gin and cake. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed, future guests should not expect them as standard.

All the birds were amazing- ducks, geese, peacocks, pheasants. Wonderful. The owners were very helpful and kind. Sadly, the place is in need of some tlc. Lights not working, extractor not working, fridge not fit for the amount of guests the property holds.... Cleanliness in the kitchen and bathrooms could be better.

Perfect for exploring the moors and still convenient for the coast. Amazing views you would never tire of!
