About this property

Malton 3.5 miles. This detached red brick bungalow is set amidst open farmland on the owner's mixed working farm, three and a half miles from the market town of Malton. In a quiet, rural position, it is perfectly placed for a relaxing break, with easy access to wonderful countryside, the coast and the magnificent city of York. With lovely views from all windows over the surrounding fields, there is a traditionally styled sitting room with a warming woodburning stove and a light and spacious modern kitchen, with a dining area to one end and French doors opening onto the rear patio.

Comfortably furnished with a welcoming feel, there is plenty of room to spread out in this pleasant holiday home. Outside, are front and rear gardens, where guests can sit and enjoy the sunshine and in springtime, watch the lambs frolicking in the adjoining fields. With a weekly market, the friendly and bustling town of Malton offers excellent amenities, with local inns, tea rooms, restaurants, art galleries and a superb renowned local butcher. Ideal for walkers and cyclists, there is a good network of footpaths and quiet country lanes, whilst those less mobile will be delighted exploring the many nearby attractions, including the stately home of Castle Howard, Eden Camp War Museum, Flamingo Land and the popular seaside resorts of Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey.

A good base for a varied and interesting holiday.

The town of Malton has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers' markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent country for walkers and cyclists.

A great cottage, with plenty of space for all your needs in a very quiet location and within easy reach of all the coastal resorts

The property was spacious and in a very quiet place. The feature in the sitting room, the fire place, was lovely. The utility is well positioned and has all the facilities that are needed when away. The decor is now looking tired. The curtain in the sitting room by the electronic chair, has been bent and so hangs to one side. The curtains in the double bedrooms also are unattached at one end so the curtains run across the windows. The bathroom appears to have been recently decorated and looks fab. However, the shower tray quickly fills with water, even under low pressure, and so risks flooding the bathroom floor. In the kitchen there are some damaged tiles on the floor and there were some obvious kitchen tools missing, eg no pizza wheel, no fish slice, no tongs to turn food. These may be little bits and pieces, but it would improve the stay tremendously.
