The cottage is very homely with lots of character and comfort. It is well equipped and well decorated and the fabulous pictures, quotes and furnishings add to the quirky environment. We spent more time in the cottage than expected due to the mixed weather but still managed to visit Whitby, Falling Foss, Dalby Forest, Scarborough, Filey, North Yorkshire Water Park, Malton and Pickering; all less than 40 minutes away. The cottage is in an excellant position in Thornton-le-Dale, a beautiful village with nice shops, 2 pubs, cafes and restaurants. The wooded area straight opposite the cottage has pond dipping and lots of wild life. The local park is excellent for children and includes a skate park and basketball court with basketball. We had two dogs with us that benefited as we did from the local walks and, the outside space/back yard of the cottage, which had been a worry for us before we arrived, proved to be adequate and safe. We had no trouble finding spaces to park for 3 cars on the local street. Highly recommended, thank you.

What a lovely cottage in a beautiful village. The cottage was so spacious, well equipped and comfortable.A new log burner was great too! Tastefully decorated and nice and clean. The owner was very friendly and told us about nice places to visit. We would most definitely stay again as it’s a great base to visit other lovely places.
