Apple Tree House in Scarborough is highly praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, the proximity to local attractions, and the enclosed garden. The steep driveway is noted, but does not detract from the overall positive experiences. The property's recent extension and welcome gifts add to its charm.
Guests consistently describe the property as 'spotlessly clean' and 'beautifully clean', indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout the house.
The location is frequently mentioned as 'perfect', 'excellent', and 'great', with close proximity to the beach, parks, and local amenities. The only drawback is the steep driveway, which could pose a challenge.
The property is repeatedly referred to as 'comfortable' and 'homely', with plenty of room and a warm atmosphere. However, some guests noted a lack of storage in the main bedroom and the absence of a TV there.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-stocked kitchen and the inclusion of appliances like an air fryer and dishwasher. The lack of a starter pack for the wood burner and some suggestions for additional furniture are the only minor criticisms.
Guests are delighted by the welcome hamper, which includes tea, coffee, and wine, among other items. It's important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

This delightful, semi-detached house is situated on a tree lined avenue close to the shops, bars and restaurants. Just around the corner is Peasholm Park, a wonderful ornamental park with stunning gardens and a large lake where you can hire pedalos and rowing boats. In the summer months they also re-enact a wartime battle with model naval ships which many children have enjoyed over the years whilst sat eating their picnics on the grass. Next to the park is the largest open air theatre in Europe with entertainment throughout the summer months. The Alpamare waterpark is about 10 minutes’ walk away with water slides, a wave machine, large swimming pools, and a sauna for the adults.
Scarborough has two bays, North and South Bay with long, flat Marine Drive to stroll along. The two bays are separated by the castle which sits high on the hillside. At the far end of the bay is the Sea Life Sanctuary, a great place to visit with the children. The long, sandy beaches have won many awards over the years. Both bays have traditional seaside donkeys and North Bay is the quieter of the two.
Further down the coast are the smaller resorts of Filey and Flamborough Head and to the north there’s the bustling seaside town of Whitby. For a perfect family holiday home, you will not be disappointed with Apple Tree House. Beach ¼ mile. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

Would thoroughly recommend this house, it was spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable and a great location. It had everything you need in the kitchen. The drive is steep but we managed perfectly well.

Apple Tree House has plenty of room , spotlessly clean and in a perfect location ,within walking distance of Peasholm Park , town and the beach.Photos of the holiday let could do with updating as the property now has a lovely extension with a dining table, which would make a lovely reading room with the addition of a sofa. There was a welcome hamper of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cereals, biscuits, wine and milk which was very much appreciated. We were a little disappointed that the main bedroom had no TV and very little storage. Would have liked to use the wood burner but there was no starter pack or utensils even if we had sourced our own fuel.As with most of the reviews the driveway was a challenge,at first we tried to reverse on but our car bottomed so we ended up driving on and when getting in and out of the car it was difficult to get the doors to stay open because of the steepness of the drive ,the driveway would put me off booking a winter stay as any other parking would make your car out of sight but would definitely consider booking again in the warmer months.

The house has everything you need. Location is excellent, close to the tranquil and beautiful Peasholme park with plenty of wildlife. Not far from North Bay beach. Walking distance to the very friendly pub which is always full of friendly locals and is dog friendly. The only thing to watch out for is the parking. I found the drive was too steep to park my car. I parked on the paved space at the bottom of the drive, not blocking pedestrians, and not on the road which has double yellow lines. I was unfortunately given a parking ticket for reasons I do not understand as the space looks like it is allocated to the residents of the house. I have appealed the parking fine. I had to park further down the road, which could be an inconvenience for anyone with mobility problems. So word of warning, beware of the traffic warden.Other than that, the property is very comfortable, clean and well equipped.
