Booked this cottage on a whim as love Scarborough and surrounding area and wanted a last minute break. Stayed her 13/10 to 19/10/25 and have to say would come back in a heartbeat. The property was even better than expected and a fabulous find. Would love to come back in the summer and sit out in the lgarden. You are about 2 miles from the seafront. Downhill most of the way so not a bad little walk. The welcome goodies were great and very much appreciated. A return visit is definitely on the cards.

Arrived to very poor standard of cleanliness. Clumps of Dog hair throughout including on the sweeping brush. Black mould on the shower hoses and damp smell in the porch and bathroom, poorly masked by the overpowering battery air fresheners. The bedding in the second bedroom was a small flat sheet which didn’t cover the sides of the mattress Contacted the local office and cleaners came out the next morning. By this time we had already done some cleaning. The cleaners made some improvements including cleaning the cleaning equipment but we still had to do further cleaning ourselves. The lighting in the rooms is well done but there is a lot of suspect wiring tacked to walls. Once we were in a clean state we enjoyed our stay but it is fair to say we were disillusioned and did consider leaving and going home on day one There aren’t many utensils in the kitchen and we had to buy a potato peeler and pizza cutter. The weekly checks on the smoke and co2 detectors hadn’t been completed since 25th July - 2 months overdue!! The dog friendly garden is suitable for large dogs but our small dog got trapped under the expansive hedges and the fence next door.Cherry trees feels l like a well executed property that hasn’t been maintained properly and standards of cleaning and maintenance have been allowed to drop to an unacceptable level. We left the property in a far cleaner condition than it was when we arrived. We have used Cottages .com on numerous occasions and this is the only property we wouldn’t return too.

Very comfortable with dog friendly garden. I will return when back in the area. The back door from the lounge to the garden needs replacement handle. The seal round the bath needs renewing. But we had a great stay.
