Guests have praised the property for its stunning interiors, convenient location with sea views, and well-equipped kitchen. The spaciousness and the provision of games and DVDs are appreciated, making it suitable for families. However, cleanliness has been a recurring concern, with several guests noting it could be improved. The steep stairs and parking challenges are mentioned, but these are common in seaside towns.
Cleanliness has been repeatedly mentioned as an area needing improvement, with guests noting dust and unclean floors. Despite this, the property has not been described as unsanitary, hence the score reflects a slightly above average standard.
The location is highly praised for its convenience, proximity to the sea, and lovely views. It is central to Scarborough's attractions, making it an ideal spot for visitors.
The property is described as cosy with comfortable beds and powerful showers. The presence of two living rooms adds to the comfort, although some guests found the lounge furniture less comfortable.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and entertainment options. Maintenance issues such as non-locking windows and minor appliance troubles have been noted, slightly lowering the score.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Parking is difficult at times due to limited spaces in parking bays on streets nearby, although parking permits are useful. The accomidation was well appointed and kitchen area was good. House in need of a good clean as there was spiders webs all over the house and not only on difficult to reach areas. Under furniture was filthy and had obviously not been cleaned for months. Decor was adequate but would benefit from a paint job as starting to look tired. The bedrooms were of a good size and had plenty of storage space, comfortable beds. Toilets and showers good. The accommodation is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as stairs to upper floors are very narrow and steep. Also moving from the living areas to the conservatory there are two steep stairs which can be dangerous to small children and elderly persons. The rear garden is very small and was overgrown with weeds. Living area is also small for a property that sleeps eight. Two small individual living rooms both of which only seat 4-5 people, not ideal if eight people wish to be together. Also only one small TV in the property again not ideal if children want to use PlayStations or watch child programmes when adults may wish to watch other channels. Also the security of the property is compromised by the latches on the rear patio doors not being secure and some broken. This property could be so much better if a little more effort was put in to maintaining the standards of other Sykes properties I have booked

The inside of the property was very well presented however, there were some minor issues. 1. The shower on the first floor leaked when turned off. 2. The remote for the TV only worked intermittently. 3. We didnât feel totally secure as the bolt locks on the back patio doors were poor quality. One of the two bolts in the middle of the doors was broken as was one of the floor bolts.

Itâs superbly equipped with everything you could need. Close enough to the harbour but in a quiet area away from the noise. Our 8 year old granddaughter wants to live there!
