The six cottages at Killerby Old Hall are ideal for a countryside holiday whilst being less than 2 miles from the beach of Cayton Bay. The owners live on-site and guests can enjoy the countryside or relax in the indoor heated swimming pool. The accommodation ranges from the Dovecote sleeping 14 in period splendour, through to cosy Chestnut Cottage which sleeps 6. Set in a pretty courtyard, each cottage is different yet has its own sitting-out area with patio furniture and four of the cottages have private hot tubs.

Killerby Old Hall is situated between the coastal resorts of family friendly Filey, with its cobble landing and pretty promenade, and Scarborough, with its vibrant South Bay and naturally picturesque North Bay, located on part of Britain’s heritage coast. The Stephen Joseph Theatre, famed throughout the county, puts on a number of Alan Ayckbourn productions. To the north, across the stunning North Yorkshire Moors, lies the port of Whitby; famous for its connections to Captain James Cook and Dracula. Robin Hood’s Bay, a former fishing village with a smugglers past, has quaint streets which lead visitors to a small, sandy cove and rock pools. Heading inland, find the historic market town of Pickering, where the famous North Yorkshire Moors steam train begins its journey. Access Dalby Forest through the attractive village of Thornton-le-Dale and be sure to stop for an ice cream. The forest offers a range of activities including mountain bike tracks, or for those feeling adventurous there is Go Ape. It is also a popular picnic destination which is surrounded by walks that the whole family can enjoy. Travel a little further afield to Castle Howard with its stunning house and grounds. The ancient, Roman walled city of York sits just an hour up the A64, a famously haunted city with many attractions such as the railway museum, river trips and excellent shopping. To the south along the coast, the Cleveland Way leads to dramatic Flamborough Head and the Bempton rspb Sanctuary. The village of Cayton is a 500 yard stroll, with two local pubs, post office and shop. Full amenities are just over 4 miles away in Scarborough and fishing is available nearby. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 54 guests.

Fabulous stay for our family birthday celebration. Excellent facilities and would highly recommend. Couple of suggestions - take a pack of toilet rolls as one in each bathroom for 12 people over 3 days was nowhere near enough. Also we didn’t see anyone checking the filters or chemical levels in the hot tub which is something I would recommend. However none of those things spoiled our stay and would love to return in summertime to make the most of the outdoor terrace and bbq area.

Excellent accommodation for a family group holiday in a great location with well maintained grounds. Swimming pool and hot tub good assets.A few of things we felt needed attention. A couple of extra large saucepans or casserole dishes are needed for home cooking for 12 people and the very worn IKEA crockery needs replaced. Also one of the internal bedroom doors didn't shut and a bathroom lock is broken. There is a lack of well organised facilities for recycling with no info in the house manual. The bins were overflowing and landfill was mixed with recycling. No food waste bin in the house so no encouragement to separate

Love this place! Second time we have been with family, did have a few issues with the heating the first couple of days but was sorted ASAP, there was a broken tv in one of the rooms but didn't affect our stay. Love the cottage, fully equipped with everything you need, pool colder than last time but was manageable. Son left his watch and contacted killerby and it was posted straight away and received at home the next day so thank you so much for that. Definitely want to return and try the main house looks unreal, thanks so much for a brilliant stay, can not fault the place, love it!
