Upon arrival we found the gardens very run down and overgrown with weeds. The house itself was clean and tidy. Also up for sale as is the neighbouring properties which is probably why we canât book for next year. Next doors dogs do bark a lot for no reason but you get used to it. Hot tub was lovely to relax in even though the weather was terrible. Overall we enjoyed the stay and found it very relaxing.

Would 100% book again, and tried to, but it looks like Old Peak is no longer available to rent which is such a shame, we had a wonderful stay.....

This appears to be a regular issue as also mentioned in other review "Attached Neighbours, with three small Dogs, you really need to have a word with them, they leave the Dogs to bark and Howl all day, hardly fair on them and us". Main issue however is the front main bedroom window is insufficiently maintained. Whilst we appreciate it was very windy (which the owner very kindly pointed out he had no control over the weather) some repair would have prevented the severe draught coming through which meant it was too cold to sleep in that room for 3 nights. Also curtains may have helped. So single beds it was for the first time ever in our married life. That said, the hot tub was lovely, the cottage was comfortable downstairs but watch out for the damaged flooring in the kitchen. Read up on how to use the Nest Thermostat as there are no instructions. Probably a good base for the lovely surrounding area, but husband was recovering from surgery so the dogs did spoilt it for us.
