Reed Cottage is no ordinary cottage; it’s a fabulous barn conversion, renovated with great attention to detail, with eco-friendly, underfloor air source heating on the ground floor and befitting fixtures and fittings throughout. The exposed beams, large open-plan living area and grand dining room table make the living space a great area in which to socialise with all your family and friends together. The contemporary, well-equipped kitchen, with its double oven, is ready to invite you in for that celebratory meal you’ve been planning. Whether you wish to gather around the ten-seater dining table, snuggle up on the sofa by the wood burner, or retreat to the snug with a book, there is somewhere for everyone to relax.
Bespoke oak stairs lead you up to the first floor, where you have the choice of four bedrooms. Two with en-suites plus an additional family bathroom with a roll-top bath. Three of the bedrooms have kingsize beds, and the third is a triple room, with three single beds, making this flexible for families, couples, or groups of friends. Outside there is an enclosed garden at the rear, where you will find the hot tub and outdoor seating.
Don’t forget to bring your dressing gown and flip-flops for going to and from the hot tub.
If you can tear everyone away from the hot tub then this area has lots to explore. Both the coast and the countryside are accessible, as Reed Cottage is an excellent base for walking and touring. The Yorkshire Wolds, one of Britain’s best-kept secrets, runs to the south of the village, and there are miles and miles of long countryside walks to try. The North York Moors National Park and the east coast are just a short drive away, and the seaside resorts of Filey and Scarborough have great beaches for families, complete with all the traditional seaside holiday favourites.
Within the hour you can be in the city of York, with its abundance of renowned attractions, including the iconic minster, Castle Museum and the Jorvik Viking Centre. York is a fabulous city to visit during your stay and it is no surprise that it is voted in the top ten cities to visit every year. Beach 5¾ miles. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

Lovely cottage set in a quiet location with everything we required. The cottage was lovely and clean and the little hamper was a lovely gesture. We all enjoyed the hot tub!It’s great for a large family or a group of friends .

We were a family of 7 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 dogs the house was spacious so we weren't on top of each other. Their is plenty of cooking equipment the wine fridge is a nice touch. The house was lovely and warm throughout the day and night so didn't need to light the log burner. There was plenty of parking we had 4 cars that fitted nicely. The garden is fully enclosed for the dogs and toddlers. The only thing that I would suggest is that they have extra outside bins as when we arrived the bins were already full from the previous guests.
