About this property

This beautiful, contemporary, mid-terrace property enjoys the perfect central position within the bustling seaside town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire. Set near a hub of attractions and amenities, with Peasholm Park, the beach and the town centre being a short stroll away, it makes the ideal base for a large group break, inviting twenty guests. Upon entering, a spacious and open-plan living/dining room holds a warming fire, with traditional furnishings; an ideal setting for families to enjoy. A door to the right flows through to a kitchen space, hosting black and white tiles, equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, and next door, a utility room is tucked away into the corner, leading to a ground-floor double bedroom. Up a flight of stairs, you will arrive at a vibrant single bedroom that carries a bold design for extra warmth, along with a welcoming double uplifted by peaceful blue tones bringing a touch of the ocean into your home, before finding a second double bedroom laced with neutral colours and a luxurious layout to enhance your mood. A bunk bedroom with a single bed is home to decorative bedding, patterns and wall art that blend perfectly together, great for kids. Take a set of stairs to the second floor and you will reach a double bedroom carrying a cool green shade creating a soothing atmosphere, before moving up two more steps to find a nicely finished twin bedroom with a striking red tone, along with a double bedroom echoing an elegant deep purple ambience for a refreshing sleeping experience. Spend a fun evening in the snug room which can be found in the basement, a lovely spot to relax, play games and read a book before heading over to two more bedrooms on this floor, consisting of a double and family bedroom, and there's a family shower room on the ground floor too. All, but one of the bedrooms are adjoined with en-suites that have been intricately matched and designed to fulfil your needs. Enjoy your own luxurious hot tub found in the back courtyard, whilst the front yard showcases an attractive patio area for alfresco dining. Scarborough has something for everyone, with the Alpamare Water Park featuring indoor pools, an outdoor infinity pool and a gigantic wave pool, plus the beach, several shops and pubs nearby, there’s even a Michelin Star restaurant, a newsagents/grocery shop and a beauty salon. The town is home to Scarborough Castle, which is a former medieval royal fortress situated overlooking the North Bay, North Sea, and Scarborough itself. A stroll away is the famous Peasholm Park, with its stunning oriental gardens, an artificial boating lake and a putting green, also operating between Peasholm Park and Scalby Mills is the North Bay miniature railway which features nearly a mile of railway. Discover unique attractions nearby including a fantastic experience at Scarborough's famous Open Air Theatre, Find the Sands Complex which features many shops, restaurants overlooking the beach, meet rare animals at the Sea Life Centre, or take a scenic cable car ride. Slightly further afield is the Leisure Village based in Ashburn Road which has a community football stadium, indoor swimming pool, sports hall and gym. Take a day trip out to Whitby, trying your luck at surfing among the stunning seaside and sailboats, with a vibrant promenade in reach. A delightful family holiday home awaits at Sail Lodge, with plenty of Scarborough’s best attractions nearby.

The bustling coastal town of Scarborough, which has been a favourite since the Victorian era, still has many of the original excellent structures, parks, and gardens, as well as its iconic castle that towers over the community. Two outstanding sections of lovely, golden sand beaches in North Bay and South Bay are very well-liked by families with young children. Basic but everything you could need. Amazing location - great place for an extended family holiday.

The owner got in touch with us the day before we went to point out a potential problem which was very reassuring. This turned out to be no problem at all but showed how genuine she was. She was also on hand to sort out a minor issue whilst we were there, again reassuring to know. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Sail Lodge in the future.

The cleanliness was not to a good standard, it looked like it had not had a deep clean for some time. There's fungus growing on the walls in the basement. The toilet seat is broken in the ground floor bedroom. The property is very run down and in need of some renovation for the price we paid.
